I don't think NPR is biased in the same sense as Fox & MSNBC. The fact that they don't profit from ads makes them possibly the least biased of them all if you believe that sensationalism is a bias much more dangerous and more prevalent than ideological bias in a society with freedom of the press.

It's definitely a college campus kind of thing, but that crowd also consists of libertarian conservatives who I think also fit into the intellectual, well read, kind of pretentious campus NPR scene.
