You forget to add these people RENT. Everyone RENTS RENTS RENTS super duper high rent prices cost of living is ASTRONMICAL and 90% of the so called "locals" who live there are people who GOT IN EARLY OR inherited thier house from "mommy and daddy" they are RICH SPOILED FUCKS as a matter of fact ONE SUPE RICH AMILY owns 90% of the commercial property in the town. If you want a house it's 9-15 million dollars STAY AWAY this place will leave you with nothing. It's NOT what it's made out to be.

The business community is nepotism at it's finest! I personally know of this. So I'm not just talking from hearsay. I'm speaking experience. 90% Rent. The rich own all the property. The rent is sky high. So is the cost of living. Add in taxes. Everyone is living paycheck to paycheck. You CANNOT build equity living here.

You can NEVER build equity or get ahead here. The rich own everything and they have a stranglehold choke on this entire area (MB, HB, RB, PV) as well as most areas like this in SoCal. No to mention the NEPOTISM. Why live here? There are other beach towns in other states without this problem.
@LeftLiberalSoCal well we have one of the best beaches in the south bay our school is one of the best in the state like i said we have a great commnity and great weather (well not right now :P) but we are doing better finacialy we are now only paying rent to stay and not to the rich buying a house is scarce though
@delta2ish If you are paying rent in Hermosa Beach you are paying it to the rich. The houses are 3-20 million dollars. Just owning a house there qualifies them as rich (net worth). Buying a house is impossible unless you are rich. Of course the school is good. Rich areas always have better schools.

I was born and raised in Manhattan Beach, 72' and I tolerate the changes because you cant stop change,( although I m not always happy about it ) but to all the people who are moving in and out of this area, understand that true locals are down to earth and that this place used to be way more family friendly.
Whoever put this together has no idea what life in the South Bay is about. The only reason one would want to go to Dragon is to see a bunch of other people who don't live in the area. Anybody who is from the South Bay wouldn't be found dead at a place that has a dress code...or a long line! This video sucks.
The South Bay was so much better 20 years ago. All of the natives have left, the mom and pop stores have shut down with the exception of Mickeys, Becker Surfboards, and a few others. I wish more of you natives had stayed. I graduated from RUHS class of 84 and have been all over the world and still come back to the South Bay
ya, i live in st. louis and ive been going to my relatives house in torrance near king harbor every summer for about 5 years now. and i make it a point to get a hennesseys burger at least once every week. theyre amazing. and i might also recommend the california dip =)
i was always at hermosa beach with ym best friend michelle we went to the pier all the time and on the swings i miss hermosa beach i'm in lame ass houston texas and there's nothing to do i've been in houston texas for a year and stayed home everyday cause there's nothing to do
I loved it here,definatley coming back when i go on a 6months minimum travelling the world. And i did end up in the poop deck on my last night,top night every night!
is it a cool place? I havent been there only to places like balboa, newport, mission beach ect..
