Why don't they test these two against the 2011 Hemi 392 Challenger? Its "only 470 hp" and runs 12.44....and is faster than both these kid-cars> 12.44 See "392Drags" on youtube.
Was that race at the end supposed to be a joke or something? Why'd they blaze the tires on the camaro like that? Hell if i have a 11 second car and you have a 12 second car I can easily lose to you if I just roast the tires off the line. Seemed like Road and Track was going out of there way to make the camaro slow in the 1/4 mile race. There shouldn't be much difference in 1/4 mile e/t between these two cars.
@Warblade118 that did look like they were trying to make the camaro look slow but there is plenty other videos and i know from personal experience that the 5.0 mustang walks away from the camaro which you would think would be closer but it just isn't
@berkster19 The new 5.0 mustang is generally faster on average but only slightly which stands to reason, it has slightly less HP and is a little bit lighter car. If when you say the 5.0 "walks away" you mean the 5.0 pulls the SS by a couple tens then I'd agree. But the margin of victory between theses 2 cars is no more than a fender or so. They are VERY close. Which I think is awesome because it makes for a great drag race.
Now we all know a Camaro does not spin that much the traction control was off or something.The Camaro doesn't have to have an expensive break package to stop good GM builds theme good enough. Ford has never built anything good and again a sucky 5.0. Add these things together even the price. Camaro all the way.

i preferred the camaro last year because the previous mustangs were just gay. a subaru wrx sti has a 4 cylinder engine that makes 305hp, but with an engine twice the size making the same power? i'm happy the mustang and the boys over at ford finally got their heads on strait.
Last year I would have taken the camaro over the mustang any day but that's not so true anymore. With the CS package, it looks really nice; not to mention that brand new motor. I wish they'd get rid of that old live axle already but I guess this new set up works well. I don't need that SVT 500 (shelby to most of you in denial), this 5.0 has plenty of umf. Maybe it'll be different once GM decides to change the SS a little bit; and once the Z28 comes out.
Chevy Camaro.
STILL has soft, weak suspension.
STILL has large and heavy body.
STILL has large, underpowered engines.
STILL can't get traction (sit-and-spin).
