  • where on the chesapeake bay is this? i would like to see them during may

  • The location where this was filmed is called the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center. It is located in Grasonville, Md. 21638. The center is open to the public . The survey is done each year, U should join up with the team. The best time R very early (like 5 am.) during the New moon and the full moon in May. For several days before each event they start coming to the beach the spawn. If U need more info Let me know. Thanx for the post--please rate the vid. Thanx Dave

  • sounds cool i would love to join the survey

  • so...."attached" crabs are the ones holding onto females, "satellites" are the ones attached to the "attached" crabs while "solitary" are by themselves and spawning males are attached to the back of the females, got it

  • thats complicated...

  • not really and it's fun but, sometimes u r disappointed 'cause there r no crabs.

if we don't watch them ---one day they will be gone after 400 million years until human came along...D

  • cool
