Does anyone think that the Focus Saloon could be a rally machine as well?? Most rally cars are hothatches right? But is'nt it possible to have a saloon witha spoiler, bar, and floodlights to have the right suspension as well? The Audi Quattro was a 3 door but was about as along as a 4 door saloon.

It could, but it wouldn't be as good as the hatch. Shorter wheelbase for quick turning, less weight for faster acceleration and more speed through corners, shorter overall length so you can use more of the the track without running into a tree, and a couple other minor differences just mean that in a section with competition as stiff as rally, it just wouldn't make sense to change it.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a performance version of the saloon/ wagon available to civilians though.
