Your average Joe & Jane USA, is somewhat aquainted with Global warming. They know it's something relatively far into the future without need for extreme concern now. They don't have a clue about "Peak Oil" I heard somone talking about Peak Oil and they used the term it's gonna be a "bitch slap" to Joe and Jane USA.
People has always thought that problems are far in the future. Global warming will come to a stop because affordable oil will be over in 5 to 10 years - or in global terms, NOW. But the destruction of our society has already begun.
I took the red pill 2 years ago (although I had an uneasy feeling for several years before that).
I think we're going to see a currency failure before peak oil really starts to hit the world hard. I think that means peak oil is effectively going to hit us in the US before the rest of the world (because we'll no longer be able to afford massive amounts of imported oil).
@Mechman064 I agree. And I took the red pill as well... The effects of a currency failure will be painful and I tend to see that coming before the peak oil collapse hits in all it's totality, although oil prices keep rising and that is a definite sign of peak oil/scarcity. Now is the time to adapt or die.
