I had my first Mexican/Sonoran dog just south of TJ in a place, it was wrapped with Bacon, had diced tomato, onions, jalapenos, mustard, mayo and boy was it out of this world!!!!
Funny thing. I was at a restaurant in Chicago eating a Sonoran Hotdog and a woman from LA said that they also sell them in LA outside the Mayan Club. I said that's interesting, because I shot a video there and it's on youtube. So folks in LA call it a Sonoran Hotdog. But I understand what you mean. Folks in New York call what they eat pizza, but everyone knows the only real pizza is in Chicago. RIGHT?

That isn't a Sonoran Hotdog, it is a hot dog with bacon on it.
Sorry to say, but you will have to venture MUCH closer to the boarder to find a Sonoran-dog. Try Arizona... anywhere south of Phoenix.
