  • Grow up for fucks sake how can god possibly exist.

  • Check this out

The tale of SANTA originates from a pagan Story about a Coal-Faced man..........very interesting stuff

  • Why is God a man anyhow? Why couldnt god be a woman? Why always men? To me, The bible is like one of those messages you pass from one end of the class to the other. It comes out half as long and totally different. In other words, its just a story - which ended up being a form of control based on fear. As long as we have Love, peace and harmony, we'll be ok. Lol... actually, to be truthfull about it, we will be ok as long as we exist! When we no longer exist than we are no longer ok!

  • if there was a God, it would HAVE to be female

    i mean come on.

Only insecure men think God is male

  • It is a rough life being a child. Look, we have ALL SURVIVED! Isn't it amazing? Maybe I will use that as an excuse for my life.

  • great vid , i have seen this before, hey did ya get my lines i sent 2 weeks ago , do you still want to be in the series ? lmk i have the script if ya want them

  • 3)This is equivalent to saying that a "gift giver" does not exist and there is no evidence for a "gift giver" while the evidence is right in front of you, that is, the gift under the tree. Using the Santa analogy against the existence of God is fatally flawed.

  • had you watched the video I used my knowledge there wasn't a god to find out that santa was not possible due travel constraints.

    watch the video...

umm, I don't know if you are aware of this.. but santa is,was your parents. he doesn't exsist.

Watch the video before you leave a comment.

  • You're missing my whole point. Our parents are not Santa, our parents are the "gift givers". That's the whole point, there is a "gift giver" and the gifts are the evidence. You may have been mislead as to who that gift giver was, but the fact remains, there was an intelligent gift giver behind the gifts, and so goes the creation.

  • ok. I used god against santa

I did not use santa against god

this is a REAL story from my life.

Fuck off if you don't like it

  • 1a)I don't want to get into a swearing match, I'll make this my last post. Just because your disbelief in God came before your disbelief in Santa is beside the point, you are making a connection between the two. In other words, you're concluding a belief in God is similar to a belief in Santa, or vise a versa. Either way the point I'm trying to get across is, the evidence for a "creator" exists via the creation, just as the evidence for a "gift giver" exists via the gifts, that's the point.

  • 2a)Yes, it is possible to be mislead into believing who the "gift giver" or "creator" for that matter really is, but that's not the issue at this point. You are denying the existence of God despite the observable evidence ( matter, space, time and life itself). You reference Job , but the stories of the Bible are not there to prove God exists, creation already does that.

  • 3a)Denying a creator exists is no more rational than denying a gift giver exists. No rational thinker would try to argue the gifts under the tree just suddenly appeared out of no where without a cause , or that somehow they evolved from the wrapping paper, and ornaments. hope you reconsider your conclusion about the existence of God. Peace.

  • And a God believe would believe that Things just appear out of nowhere and credit GOD for everything which they cant explain, what's your point?

  • yeah

    fuck off

  • 2)We now know the "gift giver" was our parents or loved ones. The universe maker, and life giver, I personal believe is the God of the Bible. However you identify that creator is not the issue at this point. The problem is when atheists try to use the myth of Santa claus against the existence of an intelligent creator.

  • 1)I personally didn't teach our children about Santa Claus for a number of reasons. Your experience is unfortunate, but I encourage you to reevaluate your conclusion. Your right, Santa Claus is not real, but the gifts were. The gifts were real observable evidence of an intelligent "gift giver", as the creation itself is real observable evidence of an "intelligent creator". Of course there are varying beliefs as to who that creator is.

  • I think it was mostly the "Why do children get different amounts of things for christmas" question that led to my early disbelief in Santa. It took me about double the time to figure out there was no god (at 15). But hey, the bigger lie is easier to believe, huh?

  • When I was a kid and I did something my parents didn't like, they would say "what would Jesus think about that?" When I started kindergarden and a kid was mean to me, I said the same thing. This was not a christian school and most of the other kids were Jewish. This didn't work out so well. I didn't doubt until my late teens but I didn't bring it up much either.

  • Listening to this one might surmise that we could resolve all problems relating to superstition and religion by creating a retrovirus that sweeps the world and raises the IQ of our collective offspring by some 50 points...

  • yep, yep! You were one smart kid. The thought of using math to prove something didn't occur to me until... oh... college ;‹)

  • Santa is a diety for kids.

  • Brainmold: Haha, you're right! You got STUFF from Santa as a kid, and absolutely zilch from god, even though adults would tell you god was giving you great stuff. Like faith and patience...you know, stuff that wasn't real, and that you couldn't play with. Santa, on the other hand was the Real Deal. Toys!!

  • Geez, you were smart. I FORCED my brain to not process contrary evidence.I thought the Whole World believed in god, how could they ALL be wrong? I couldn't do the worship thing so KNEW I was doomed to hell all my life. Really, I wish I had known when a child. I wasted years in fear of an imaginary Lunatic in the Sky. As for the jolly elf, I was a Santa Apologist till about 10 years old.Adults told me, but I wished it was the other way around: fake god, real santa..Way better, huh?

  • 8journey8- I think had I enjoyed a "normal" childhood being a doubter wouldn't have started at such a young age. I had to realize that my mothers motivations weren't always in my favor before that. I think that still bothers me more then god did.

side note: I am amazed that adults can still buy the god lie. simply amazed.

  • My nephue still believes in Santa but I don't think his brother does. A few years ago we began to suspect that he began to suspect that Santa was actually my Dad.

  • Parents are silly!

  • I think I believed in Santa longer than God, actually. I didn't give a shit about God but Santa I miss.

  • dechha1981- I'm quite certain I didn't question santa earlier because of the presents. I still like presents but I'm glad I no longer have to try and figure out how a fat guy gets down chimmneys.

  • Did they try to cover up what they were doing or did they just yell at you to get back to bed?

  • takotheoktopus- My mom went through this speech. You believe in santa right?? Santa won't bring you presents if you say you don't believe in him. I finally snapped at 13.. and I got no presents that year. It was weird my step sister did get presents because she believed. btw my mom would take me shopping with her when she bought the presents. How dumb do adults think kids are.

  • Wow! That's all kinds of crazy. My parents were pretty thick in the head when it came to deceptive measures. By the time I was 9 they gave up trying to lie to me since I was far too inquisitive and if I couldn't get a straight answer from them, I would ask another adult until I was convinced I was being told the truth. I don't think adults give kids enough credit.

  • With you all the way on this one! Good vid!

  • i dont know when i knew santa was fake. i think my mom told me or somethign im unsure. i was probably around 10 or 11 when i began questyioning god and religion. and about 12 to 14 when i was sort of an atheist. unsure on specifics. but the lie is terrible to be forced on you no matter the reason.

  • "Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence comes evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?" --Epicurus

  • When I went to Catholic school in Kinder & 1st grade, I had to go to church every day. Talk about indoctrination. -.-

  • I never believed in Santa, because I was in a cult that didn't celebrate Christmas. I had friends all through school though.

  • Don't forget he has helpers as well! That's how I tried to rationalize it when I was around six. I figured the real Santa never left the north pole and had all the mall santa's do the dirty work. My Dad was a big fella and would dress up as Santa every year to convince us kids that Santa was the real deal. I was horrified when I saw Santa making out with my Mom! That made me do some detective work that lead to the truth.

  • I didn't have any friends in elementary school either ... maybe it was the white hair, fangs, and clothing that never fit... or maybe it was my incessant need to remind everyone that maggots were going eat them when they were dead.

  • I find your understanding of that as a kid pretty cool actually.

yeah, i didn't get on good either, I think I might have preached too much. I hope no one listened to me.

  • Nobody has ever been killed in the name of Santa. Santa doesn't strike the fear of hell into the hearts of little children. The belief in Santa as a child doesn't create an adult who psychologically needs Santa to act as an eternal parental figure for him.

Those are just some reasons as to why a belief in Santa is harmless and a belief in a god is anything but.

  • Good video!

  • That was a heart-warming holiday story indeed.

  • ..now that im an adult i know i was right the whole freakin time! seing other atheists helps me remember that i was not the mentalcase, all the other sheeps were...

its great to see theres intelligent ppl around and not just dum sheeps.. :)

  • when i was in 2nd grade, 7yo, the old hag we had for a teacher made us sing christian hymns every morning..i made a mockery of the whole thing by doing handmovements while we sang. the old hag got really mad and hated me ever after.. back then i didnt really know what the hell i was doing, but i knew the whole religion thing was crap..but i thought i was the bad guy somehow..

  • great vid

  • didn't take me that long to figure the santa thing was a fairy tale meant to butter up the good nature of children...i think i was about the same age, grade school...all this fuss my parents were talking about, and nothing happened that x-mas night...shortly after my belief in any god, which barely colored my perspective at all, vanished with the dog that i thought GOD would return home.

  • Your family forced you to believe in santa? LOL.

As a parent Santa is the most annoying guy out there because kids suddenly believe they can literally have ANYTHING. then you are stuck explaining how they can't have a new game console because after christmas santa sends all the moms and dads a bill for the toy he brought and if mom and dad don't pay santa we will have to live on the street.

  • That's wrong Sara. When kids start to believe that they can have anything, parents are supposed to tell them that they aren't getting the new console because they haven't been good enough and Santa knows because he's always watching. I thought everyone understood how that works. ;-)

  • Understanding money management, the need for good education and the desire for better paying careers as adults is far, far better in the long run than having boring overly behaved children now.

  • LOL@ Spanish Inquisition about Santa.

I've thought about the Santa thing. If I have kids... Should I tell them there's a Santa? Should I just not mention Santa and let them figure stuff out on there own? I'd still get them present, of course, but do I say whom the presents are from?

This type of shit is why I constantly search for women smarter than I am. I gotta hook up with an ethicist. "Cloning is okay and don't tell our child about Santa."

  • God is real he just has a gambling problem and an anger management problem. Santa is also real but he only brings presents to good children who believe in him (which cuts down on the workload).

  • Damn I wish I would have figured out there was no god that early, it took me until 17 to completely dimiss the god myth.

Santa I don't think I ever whole-heartedly believed in though. Crazy how that works, qutie honestly I see the Santa myth less far-fetched than the god one.

  • It took me till almost 34, so 17 isn't that bad at all :D

  • my parents of course put up with me and my brothers plotting out placing the anti-aircraft weapons on the house with the intention of taking the entire haul ourselves, that and we figured reindeer meat probably tasted good
