  • Johanson, you the rock u still remember me from Oregon nice green Oregon , awesome keep it up.....

  • It's simply catchy... Even trough the quality ain't the best, and I think there is some parts where you don't are spot on the note, it's a well played and nice song!

I keep playing the replay button ;-) :-P

  • You have amazing talent!

  • If you want to hear the full version google "brock Johanson myspace" and it will lead you to his page where there is a finished version. It's not as emotional or raw but it is good to see. Keep up the good work!

  • oh. my. goodness. that was incredible! i wish i could do that haha holy cow!

  • So was he on his mission when he wrote this?

  • disgusting mormons need to be shot dead yuck

  • Guess you will go first then?

  • this has been on my favorites for years now. I love love LOVE love this song.

  • Great song by the way... Love the melody and the lyrics

  • The goal of mormon missionaries is to invite all people unto Christ...some might get a little carried away but they r stiill good people.. they pay about $10,000 mostly if not completely out of their own pockets and leave their school/work and lives behind for 2 years to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others.. because they care about others and wish for them to be happy...

  • Furthemore there have been countless discoveries that support the BOM as true history such as witting on metal plates, or the book of enoch ( found in the Pearl of Great Price)which Joseph smith translated from egyptian by the power of God which the rest of the world didnt have until more recently they found the same book as part of the dead sea scrolls.

  • And no man shall add to these words is in revelations which is the last book in the bible but not the last book written. the bible isnt in chronological order just FYI. And joseph smith showed the plates to other people and their testimonies are in the BOM. Two of them left the church and one never rejoined but they never denied seeing the plates. U would think they would have exposed Joseph as a liar since they had left the church and were no longer in it but they didnt.

  • well i am mormon and i think its totally bull shit how you guys talking about us !!! we are always friendly and we are good persons !!!

  • talking like that gives people the impression that youre full of it too.

you shouldnt use that kind of language to demonstrate how much you believe in your faith.

Im LDS too, just ignore these people and watch the way you speak.

    be an example.

  • And I raped your asshole until it bled and then I used the blood as lube.

  • Is this dumb comment even worth a response?

  • @dnask8 nope. why dont you delete these?

  • @Why27 delete what? The comments or vids? The comments I don't because it is important for people to see how ignorant other people are in the world with their close minded bullshit.

  • @dnask8 the comments. and you're right, people are so ignorant. its like they search for things about mormons so that they can bad mouth it. they should find something useful to do instead of going out of their way to look like idiots. >.<

  • no u ddnt....u dont have to force it in ya if it ain't sticcin don't blame my bein mormon or his bein mormon for ur stupidity...hamo/mormon fo' lyphe reppin it wit mah everything..

  • we don't force people to be mormon its a personal option that they heppen to choose for themselves. we just make a suggestion to join. trust me i know i have been mormon my whole life and it is the best thing in the world

  • You have the audacity to put down someone else's religion, and you think he's the one who will be burning? Boy are you gonna be suprised when that day comes.

  • Wow, you give everyone in the UK a band name. I thought people were supposed to be educated and respectful there. Guess I was wrong, they are just as dumb and ignorant as the American south. You can leave my video comments now cause you're just wasting space on the internetz and earth. Can you upload a video for me so I can grab the meta data off it please?

  • I like it

  • This is seriouly good...I hope someone finds you and offers you a contract, I would love to buy the CD. I replay it on my computer constantly...

  • nice singin and playin

    thanks for sharing!

  • like I've said many times, I freaking love his song.

  • Nice song!!! Missionaries are good people.

  • Yeah they really are.

  • Its not alright....

  • What isn't?

  • hey i know someone called Elder Brock Zylstra

    anyways,awesome singer and guitar player!

  • I've had this in my favorites since like, 2006.

  • I really love this song!!

  • If you guys can try to sort fact from fiction while trying to find logic in what the mormon religion teaches, then you won't get anywhere. The mormon missionaries invite all to read the Book of Mormon and pray with full intent and desire to know if it is true or not. If you have your anwser from God, then thats all the matters, and all doubt will be resolved. Mormons don't soley believe in the religion based off of historical evidence. They "obsess" and believe because God told them it's true.

  • why did you take the video down??

  • nevermind...maybe a youtube problem?? mormonism is a manmade religion...thats all i'm saying..and the preisthood thing...it's just religous gobbly gook intended to create some sort of heirarchy...u know..to control the masses. Smith is an exposed LIAR. the BOM os a plagerized twisted mix of KJV, view of the Hebres and personal (smith) idea. history bears no record of it's claims. basically a book of un-truths.

  • Finally something I agree with you on.

  • really??

  • I can't believe a religion that was made up from "Plates" that magically disappeared after the ONE GUY and the ONLY GUY who could translate them was done with them. Aside from the fact that the religion is just a little over a hundred years old it would make more sense if it was all made up from delusional old mans mind. It's all to convenient that no one can check the facts on the history of their religion.

  • i've been studying mormonism for quite some time now (my co workers think i'm obsessing) and i cant believe people actually swallow this stuff.

  • you "are" awesome...and you like to cuss. is that fruit of the Book of Mormon?? or the Doctrines and Covenants??

  • I'm not Mormon bortha' man. I don't agree with their religion at all but I do respect them as human beings. And fuck yeah I love to cuss!

  • he dosent look elder...he looks younger. he could sude some lessons as well :-)

  • I am very surprised by this comment. Being from a church background you should, of course, know what an Elder is for anyone who takes the time to invest in one religion obviously takes the time to look at others and understand why the one you choose was the correct one. Otherwise how would you witness to others? Right? Yup.

  • Also, I am shocked that you didn't notice he was playing a Esteban $60 HSN guitar which plays drastically different then the Martin you play (But that Martin still isn't a Taylor =p). The action is down right ridiculous on the above guitar. With a decent guitar he is phenomenal. Thanks for watching and keep up the good work yourself!

  • maybe he should stick to guitar playing and give up the "elder" ??

i was recently approached be two mormon boys (half my age) and they got mad at me because i didn't refer to them as "elder so and so" - i thought that was funny. now...maybe if his name was elder...then i could see it...but COME ON !?!?

  • When you were in high school, or even in college, did you refuse to address your instructors as Mr./Mrs./Ms. So-And-So because it wasn't their first legal name? It is VERY ignorant of you to refuse to respect the wishes of another individual just because you don't think they "deserve" to be called Elder in your own personal opinion based on some merit system you think exists. Think of them as another tribe, who are you to tell some tribe that their ranking system in their own culture is wrong?

  • I want you to dust off the bible you should have laying around somewhere in your house since you claim to be affiliated with a chapter of some Calvary Chapel (The Wal Mart of churches) and read Philippians 2: 3-4.

    We will continue below.

  • I am not intimidated by your YouTube/MySpace status in any way shape or form. A quick check into who I am should put all the questions of me not knowing what I am talking about to rest.

  • You very much have a right to your opinions and I respect that you have the balls to express them in a public forum. I just want to clear up the misconceptions in your previous posts that could confuse the thousands of others who enjoy this particular video and who are not of Ladder Day Saint background. There is a reason behind the YOUTH in the church being called "Elders" while on their mission for God.

  • what is the reason behind calling a kid an elder...?? is it like calling a priest in the catholic church "Father" ?? (i wouldn't do that either...with all due respect). religions produce wierdness. i dont think that is what Jesus had in mind....

  • A simple google search would answer all your questions:

"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is governed by priesthood. This priesthood is composed of two components: a lesser priesthood (Aaronic) and a greater priesthood (Melchizedek). Each priesthood has offices.

The Melchizedek Priesthood has five offices: elder, high priest, patriarch, seventy and apostle. The office of elder is the first office in the Melchizedek Priesthood."

  • It's where they start out. Stop being ignorant and learn something before you judge. And last time I checked, you don't even have the authority to judge.

    See: Matthew 7:1-5

  • i'll pass

  • it's quite dusted off ...

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others...

dont stop there :-) but DO stop at

Rev 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

    that's where it ends bro...

  • You are correct. And no man shall add to this book. That's why I don't agree with the Momon religion.

  • the mormon church didnt add to the bible.

  • i own two taylors and two martins. the martins are better guitars...hands down.

  • Martins are kind of pitchy for my taste. The warm, full tones you get from a Taylor just can't be matched by any other guitars. I have a Martin and a Taylor right here too. :)

  • wow its a very good song. vocals are great. reminds me of old times with green day and blink 182 for some reason and thats awesome. 5/5

  • he is very very good on the guitar. Good singer too!

  • is he back yet?

  • Yes

  • Well I guess you're no still on your mission if this was posted March of '06. My bad for not reading that before posting.

  • Yeah this video was actually filmed at his farewell party I threw for him... Thank you so much for your support of him!

  • Elder Johanson...that was a beautiful song. I don't have any original videos of my own on my channel but I do have 2 playlists. One of the playlist is called AMAZING AMATEURS. I've just added this video to my AMAZING AMATEURS playlist. Loved the song and you've got an excellent voice. In case you're still on your mission...good luck out there and remember CTR.

  • nice job elder!

  • I was divorced a long time ago, and those lyrics really get to me, because that was my story. The children and I were abandoned because he had a girl friend.

  • what's name of this song?

  • He never told me.

  • wow its beatiful ^_^

  • BEAUTIFUL.

  • so beatiful

  • yeah, see "Zarahemla final" on youtube

  • Very Nice,...Keep it up.

  • I love this song.. I have not talked to Brock in forever or else i would help ya out!

  • Do Work right there!

  • nice vid.... i hope i have fairly frequent access to a guitar when i go. Just a couple months to go and i'm outta here!

  • in my opinion. i think the out of tune guitar adds a nice effect lol

  • very good!:)

  • duude can sing and play but im sure that guitar is well outta tune, i hope it is anyway

  • " guitar that I had laying around with 4 year old strings on it so given the circumstances he did fantastic" Just noticed in the description so please just ignore previous , good stuff under circumstances i agree 100%

  • This Song is realy good. wow...you sing very beutiful. respect.

  • I like!

Any chance of bringing him to to a recording studio and getting this on CD?! I'd buy it :).

  • I know he recorded something but I have kinda lost touch with the guy. I have a studio that I'd love to put him in but it's just a matter of getting in touch with him...

  • This song's de bombest eva>.. ... keep playin'!!!

  • seems like a pop song but its ok xD only art can make us free so xD keep going

  • Hi, Elder (Brock) this is Albert Johansen from Brazil. Amazing that we are Johansen (I am also German). Where are your family from originally?

  • Wow, it's so good!!!

  • This song is way amazing! I really like it a lot!! You know who this guy sounds like? Kirby Heyborne!

  • I Love this, dude its tight.

  • Awesome song! It´s really touching.

  • At least it's not the most ugly, effeminate, femmy boy, Clay Aiken.

  • awesome tune, is it original? and is it copyrighted yet? thanks for posting it.

    take care, scott

  • oooh fur.. johanson.. is that way.. :)

  • this is so sweet.

  • I can see all the Mos are coming out of the woodwork to support their friend's music. That's sweet. Sweet, but so over-the-top, it's an obvious ploy. There are genius artists all over YouTube that mop the Temple floors with Elder Joe Blow, and they're not getting so much acclaim. Don't blow it for your friend by posting all the lame comments. Just a thought. Oh by the way - Joseph Smith is a douche.

  • metal71, just becaues Elder Johansen is LDS doesen't mean that you can be rude. If you would put you're diferences aside you would see that he has talent. And no I have never met him so you can't say I'm doing this just becaues I'm his freind. True Story.

  • i love mormons duh i am one

  • Oh my gosh, that song is awesome (Fits in well with the Elder Oaks recent talk in General Conference). I am a prospect missionary, and I love to play the guitar and sing. Thanks for sharing this video and the lyrics. Both the song and the lyrics made my heart cry.

  • Mormons rock.

  • Does Brock have any more diamonds to share with us?

  • Great! Great Song, Great Lyrics, Great All Round.

Props to Brock :D Does the song have a name?

  • So can anyone shed any light on what this song is called/who it's by if not by this guy himself or chords/lyrics. Tis worthy of a bit of famousness this is :D

  • Oh... really amzinhg! nice voice!

  • so basically i have listend to this song for the past 40 mins straight!

  • OH MY GOSH ITS BROCK!!i like this lots... ahh this means he was with snowden...

  • This Elder can baptize me anytime.

  • Hey hey hey, I love Slipknot. What are you trying to say!? On the brighter side, great video. Great voice and damn good lyrics.

  • we've had lots of missionaries over at our house who could play guitar. They had to play our guitar because I think they can only bring scriptures on their mission, but many of us Mormons are musically talented, my wife included. check her out at TuffGurlz.

  • I really like this, what chords are you playing? and did you make this up? Because i find it really hard to play interestinf riffs on the guita, i just stick with chords, and it sucks

    xx

  • arriba los misioneros y los LDS

  • I miss My Missionary... *Tear*

  • ok a) you're hot and b) your voice is amazing! keep it up

  • Would You PLEASE correct me on the words that I'm wrong on? (I"m sure I'm way off on some, it's kind of hard to hear/understand...)

  • The next Peter Breinholt for sure.

  • a few pitchly moments but overall a good performance. =]

  • WwWwWoOoOwWwW This is amazingggg I loveee your voice.. and the song is great.. YUMMY <3 I could listen to this allll the time ;)

  • hope i come too a place were i can play the guitar on my missithison... This is gloryus...

sorry thtings did't work out for you imahumanbeingtoo

  • That was absolutely riveting. I almost cried. Keep it up. You're an awesome songwriter.

  • Brock Come Home Pocatello surley does miss ya!!!

  • one word AWSOME!!!

  • The song is Beautiful!. Your voice is Awesome!. Thank You for Sharing this with us all. God has Given You a Gift with Your Voice and guitar playing skills, keep using it so that he doesnt take that Gift away. Loved it!!.

  • Awesome

  • I was I missionary once. I wasnt allowed to play guitar. I left my mission and just went home. Freakin mormons!

  • imahumanbeingtoo: If not being allowed to play guitar was your only excuse for quitting your mission and going home, then I guess you were too immature and selfish to go on a mission. Grow up and stop blaming the church for your problems.

  • actually i quit my mission because i realized that i was there for a corporation's numbers and not for jesus christ. also god gave me the gift of music to share with others which i was not allowed to do unless it was a hymn from 200 yrs ago. ohhh, and the church did cause a lot of problems for me so i left it too and ive been happy and open for who god really is. we're not numbers on paper and how many numbers can get dunked in water. we're people, put here to become who we are.

  • This is a response to imahumanbeingtoo...I'm sorry that you quit your mission. I hope that you haven't left the Church as well. You know, I have known some excellent missionaries who had guitars and they played LDS hymns but with their own updated rendition and their Mission President didn't have a problem with that. God bless you and I love you!

  • Are you related to Chris Johanson?

  • I was abit confused Elder.. where you warning against marital strife or just worrying about the times you were not supposed to be in bed and your mother was scolding you... I hope that the song is really about a boy and his pet teddy bear that he caught on fire.. oh well I hope you were able to have a good mission ... Thank for trying to sing about frustrations rather than cause another harm.
