  • The sound is just awesome! nothin more to say... ;)

  • Area looks like West New Jersey or Pennsylvania with the acres & acres if tall corn.

Whatever the car is great.. Sounds like a pile of fun. Sir David

  • 0:15

    is that snagglepuss?

  • Haha, awesome. I would love to have a car that gives somebody that kind of reaction. Something that goes around corners would be nice too, though.

  • Oh, it goes around corners quite well also, the limit depends on what size, profile, and brand tires you are running. With not very sticky 70 series 15" balloon tires, can probably get near 1.0 lateral G. Best guys running 15" use Mickey Thompson cheater slicks - very sticky but not long life. Others go to 17 or 18 inch wheels with 35 series tires, very sticky. Depends how much money you want to spend and how much resistance you have to the high speed corner pucker factor.

  • @a273cobra Yeah, I remember reading that Factory Five Cobras can pull about 1G on the skidpan on street rubber. If I could get a car that corners well, with a huge V8 under the hood and the sexy aggressive look of a Cobra... well, that could just about be the ultimate sports car in my opinion. One day, one day... haha.

  • @blockheadface 2012 mustang GT can pull .96G and it has that american screamin V8 :P

the Boss 302 can do .98 and the Mustang LS can do 1.02-1.05 aparently

  • @CemetaryGatesML That's impressive, but none of those have the visual appeal to me that the Cobra has.

  • @blockheadface true true... but im a little torn... hopefully one day i will own a replica cobra.

their only 20-30k For a decent kit car fully built ready to drive...

but theirs a problem... a 65 Ferrari 250GTO is also a wicked ride, much like the cobra is :P

  • in what state is the car located? I am interested if it is still for sale! thanks!

  • Currently located in NW Ohio at Northwest Auto Sales. Check their website for lots of good pictures and a short video or email me directly at A273Cobra@aol.com for mroe details.

  • Wanted one for 40 years. I first saw an original Shelby on the showroom floor with a sticker of $7000+, which I thought was crazy for a car without rollup windows. Holy shit, you have pushed me over the edge! Time to get one...finally. Hope I don't kill myself, but it sure would beat checking into the home!

  • Yes, know what you mean. I only waited 30 years (got this 10 years ago) but it was worth every minute of the wait. Better in every respect than I dreamed - faster, smoother, and even more comfortable but also scarier as well. This car actually now for sale.

  • Superformance makes what I consider to be the best Cobra replica and is what they consider a "roller". This means the car is complete - fully assembled, interior, painted bodyand full chassis but no engine or transmission - those are for the owner to install, depending on how much money he has and how much he wants to scare himself. Mine has a 460 Ford SVO crate motor, mildly reworked to about 575 HP, which is nearly sufficient for me.

  • is superformance a tuned cobra? or is it stock? I don't get it.

  • Wish you'd started filming a second before! Great sounds even at idle, and then the eruption...! Great. Now, how about a redo with the camera somehow (don't know how either!) steady, and get the whooooole thing!

  • fuckin sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

  • Sorry for late answer; I live now in China and YouTube is blocked but I can get around the blcok now. The engine is SVO 460, somewhere in neighborhood of 550-575 HP I estimate. Will likely sell car in next couple of months because my contract for working in China has been extended and I hate to let it sit forever (but love to drive it, just have to remember that this snake can and will bite if allowed!).

    Glad you enjoyed.

  • what engine do you have in that baby? we have our superformance replica with a 427...sweet!!

  • This is bitchin'. I have a 351W and that's plenty a power for me coming into an on-ramp from 2nd to 3rd gear. What a rush. Dangerous cars.

  • lol at 0:01

    "Ho0o0o0ooly SHIT!"

  • Best is to have both of course!

  • who needs a girl when you can have this

  • it's easier to get an girl

  • @shanebx65wa girls are just friends with benefits...

  • Glad you enjoyed it. You captured the emotion perfectly!

  • i was wondering how fast have you had that bad boy up to?

  • Short burst to 135, still had a little left but it has the aerodynamics of a barn and high speed stability is not the best thing about the car. That was plenty fast enough on street tires

  • olly shittttt!!!!!!!!! jajajajjaja

  • what a great country! is that nebraska?

  • Not even close - Northeast Indiana, near Auburn (30 miles north of Ft. Wayne).

    Thanks for watching.

  • LOL, if you turn it up you can hear him say "HOLY SHIT" at the beginning of the video as well. lols.

  • that guy screaming "HOOOLYY SHIIT!" summed this vid up for me..

  • i love these cars. I was in a 700rwhp 460bb ford kit car cobra before. Had a 5 speed auto in it. weighed 2200 pounds. Fastest car I have ever been in. That car was just stupid fast!

  • I think he was referring to both. I was sure thinking it in response to coming off the ground. Had driven that stretch of road many times but never accelerating like that or at that speed. Just another reminder that you can never relax in the car. Glad you enjoyed the ride.

  • Gotta love em!

And Im not sure if the guy saying "holy shit!", was referring to the acceleration, or coming off the ground at 90. lol Prolly a little of both.

  • Nice the guy comment about the car, after the hard aceleration >>> Holly Shit !!

    kkkkkkkkkkkkk That was great!

Great car, great VID, 5 Stars!

  • Glad you like it. Now live in China while car is in US and not sriving the car os one of the things I miss most. I run this soetimes to remember. Glad you likes it. Yours sounds pretty cool as well.

  • China is a pretty neat place! I spent a few weeks there about 10 yrs ago. It makes you appreciate the good ole USA. If you need somebody to go drive it for you while you're there I'll be happy to help you out!..ha..ha..

  • Great video! I've got a Unique 427SC with a 452FE putting out about 530 hp with a 4 speed toploader. You vid is in my favorites to help get me through the long days at work while my baby is at home!

  • Car began life with Ford SVO Crate motor - 460 CI / 535 HP and a Tremec TKO 5 speed transmission. I have done quite a bit of work on chassis dyno - last run before putting car away a couple of years ago gave 445 HP at the rear wheels. Since then have added low restriction (more & better noise, more power) and new center body on the carb (no choke) - would guess added around 50 HP but have not had it on dyno since. Glad you enjoyed the ride.

  • how much would a turnkey cost?

  • Superformance does not sell turnkeys - car is complete less engine and trans for about $40,000; then depends on how fast you want to go. My combination would be about %10,000 but $20,000 would get you a Roush 588 CI and Tremec 6 speed if you would really like to shake the earth.

  • Which motor/trans is this? Looks like fun!

  • Nice video, that cars angry and angry suits me fine.. I like speed too, I do 150 on my sport bike but only on backroads with fields and no side streets, no traffic etc. unless ya count the cows..lol Haven't seen acceleration like that on a car since I rode in my uncle's blown roadster years ago, I was pickin bugs out of my teeth but still smilin after that ride! How much did your awesome car cost you?

  • Sorry for delay in responding. i bought the car in 2002 for $40,000. It was built in 1997 but had only 2200 miles on it. I probabl have put another $7000 or so into it, nostly inot the polished stainless steel exhaust that improved sound and made more HP. Still is a rush every time I am in the car. Used to do bikes too but this is best overall. Thanks for watching.

  • The Cobra is one of the best muscle cars ever built. I've taken one of these vehicles to Switzerland. This is the reply from the locals.

"Arrgh. Take zis car avay. It's to loud yah."

After watching the video, I really salute the owner.

It actually takes a person with nerves of steel to floor it.

No offense to other owners of these cars but stopping it is like a duck on a frozen lake.

  • My 351W small block still feels fast and dangerous - which it is.

  • "holy shit"

took the words outta my mouth

  • I've spent 20 years lusting after this car.....Thanks for the video!!

  • Do you happen to be the owner of this car? It was sweet when I got a chance to drive it after my high school graduation.

  • Yes, I do happen to be owner. Glad you enjoyed it. Nate's comment when I told him to get on it a little (aftwr making sure the front wheels were straight) was "Man, this thing is intimidating", which sums it up nicely I think.

  • I just remember running out of room in the parking lot very quickly.

  • nice one

  • hot
