No Mariah was often compared to Whitney (she was even called "white Whitney") since her debut album but I've never hated Whitney. And what I said is true about Leona. Her voice gets broken when she hits high notes; I say that not because I hate her or whatsoever. And Mariah's voice gets broken sometimes when she sings high notes nowaday too. I just state the fact, nothing else.

They are both great but Mariah's voice has more 'substance'/'texture' than Leona's. Leona's voice is technically perfect but Mariah's timbre is more velvety and is so richer. Unfortunately, although Leona can take very high notes, there is no power in her voice, no force - it is thin like a razor (same goes for Beyonce). Sorry but there are now no youngsters to match Mariah, Whitney and Celine.

A bit of her voice?! Her voice control withered from her overuse of her whistle octave. Notice, how when she uses it now, its very weak and hard to hear, and its harder for her to hit higher notes.

I prefer Leona's tone, but will not deny Mariah's amazing accomplishments. I think Leona has a lot more potential and could come close to some of Mariah's higher notes, as she has a whistle register and is said to have a 4 octave range meaning she has to be able to hit at least C7 I think.
