@racheladams456 Actually Christianity messes up sometimes because your not supposed to "bash". I think their sort of code is "love the person, not the act". Treating your neighbor the same way you want to be treated doesn't mean liking everything they do. Christians aren't supposed to attack, they are supposed to show love and compassion; a representative of God's powerful love not actually God himself. That is why atheism is becoming more and more common. I think this is a difficult question.
At first: marriage is a holy alliance between a MAN and a WOMAN. Look at the bible or the koran or the tora.
But on the other hand, gays and lesbians have the right to be married to. They are human like heterosexual. I think they should have the right to marry, but maybe not a church wedding.
In my opinion homosexual should only get married in a registry office.
@HlBlSCUS jus so you kno religious marriages have to go thru the legal system too...the way you choose to celebrate the union is up to you (church. park, destination etc) but marriage is a legal issue not a religious issue
@badejob Actually that always confused me. If it is just a legal thing how come some gays insist on being married in a church? It doesn't seem fair to impose that kind of marriage in a church when it obviously goes against the religion. Yet a church could get into big trouble if it disagrees or refuses the ceremony. Have to say, I'm a bit disappointed neither one of them did the big wedding dress thing. It would have been just a terrific image to see both of them dressed in that sort of luxurious traditional wedding attire. But I think the whole thing was relatively low key.
Portia had quite a gown, didn't she? Or at least quite a skirt, definitely bride worthy, I thought. And I don't think even her own wedding would be reason enough for Ellen to get in a dress :P

UGH! i hate reading all these comments about how gays and lesbians shouldnt be able to marry. NOwhere in the bible does it say, same sex ppl will burn in hell because of their sexuality. God does not care about gender, race or any other BS like that! God only wants love and happiness. So if that means spending the rest of ur life with a person with the same private parts...SO BE IT! @racheladams456 Technically it does state a man shouldn't lay with a man as he would a woman; a woman shouldnt lay with a woman as she would with a man. I think it goes on to state about beastiality and stuff but if you actually read it you'll see the topic was discussed. The topic was also mentioned in Sodom and Gomorra in that the men of the town were evil for wanting to have sex with the 2 angels disguised as men. I dunno, its just what I heard. You should get facts straight.

@Strymn The bible also says we aren't suppose to have sex before marriage, or shack up with someone we are not married to. There are many things the bible says we are and are not suppose to do, but we do. The thing that bothers me is, if your gonna bash people for not going by the bible exactly, than EVERYONE should be bashed, right? Everyone sins, that's why Jesus died on the cross, for our sins. Why attack only gays, why not attack everyone for their sins? It's injustice no matter how u put it

@racheladams456 Actually Christianity messes up sometimes because your not supposed to "bash". I think their sort of code is "love the person, not the act". Treating your neighbor the same way you want to be treated doesn't mean liking everything they do. Christians aren't supposed to attack, they are supposed to show love and compassion; a representative of God's powerful love not actually God himself. Mind you gays tend to bash churches for disagreeing with them so neither side is guiltless.

@TheLehAya In the original Bible, it doesn't say anything about homosexuality. However, authors have recently been re-editing the Bible in order to fit THEIR code of standards, not God's. That is why atheism is becoming more and more common. People don't know what to believe in anymore, and because everyone is screaming "God hates fags", people would rather believe in no God, than a God that hates them. And IDK about you, but the God I was raised into loving was incapable of hating anything.

I think this is a difficult question.
At first: marriage is a holy alliance between a MAN and a WOMAN. Look at the bible or the koran or the tora.
But on the other hand, gays and lesbians have the right to be married to. They are human like heterosexual. I think they should have the right to marry, but maybe not a church wedding.
In my opinion homosexual should only get married in a registry office.
So they are juridical married. And that's okay.

@badejob Actually that always confused me. If it is just a legal thing how come some gays insist on being married in a church? It doesn't seem fair to impose that kind of marriage in a church when it obviously goes against the religion. Yet a church could get into big trouble if it disagrees or refuses the ceremony. It makes gay marriage look more like a spiteful excuse to bash the church for disagreeing with their sex choices rather than "act of love". Seems odd in a free speaking country.

Im not Gay, but I think that it should be legal. Who are we to say that people shouldn't marry because they love someone of the same sex. Hopefully people will see that it is OK, and allow it here in the U.S.
