Holy hell, man! I normally enjoy your videos, but you really need to do a better job with the audio. I don't mean that HowTheWorldWorks is quiet. Did you even listen to your speech before uploading it? You need to get a pop filter or move the mic off to the side of your mouth, listening to that was unpleasant to say the least.
i know... i know... i've told people before that my microphone sucks. and that's why the audio is usually very quiet. because i usually have to hold the mic back about 2 feet from my mouth to keep that from happening. the only problem with that though is that the audio can barely be heard. so i decided to try doing a recording close up, because i keep getting complaints about the audio too low. you can't satisfy everyone i guess:-P

Many of your comments have been "down thumbed" by other users who have watched, rated and responded to this video. They have read your posts, decided that they held no intellectual merit and voted them into obscurity. Corporate charges are a tax, especially when there are no substitutes, like with health care. Health care premiums have risen 3 times faster than wages and that's a 300% increase over wage growth. Now apply that to many other areas. Competition is being taken away in our society, Amazon now only allows shipping with UPS and I'm avoiding UPS because of there stance with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
I care when all taxes are increased and spread the wealth politics are threating are free way of life. Why not raise cap gains tax to 85%? and soak the rich further by taxing them at 90% rise the state and local taxes too. and take more out for soc. sec. , medicare, and unemployment. raise cigarette taxes another two bucks. increase sales tax and the estate taxes. more corporate taxes and payroll tax. hike the gas tax. excise tax should go up. then we are on the road to fairness when everyone is BANKRUPT!

Pew Research polls show that in this country an overwhelming majority of Americans are concerned or downright in opposition to Obamas policies such as growing GOVERMENT, increasing spending, etc. with overwhelming opposition in some areas. There is a striking disconnect between Obamas personal popularity and agreement with his policy proposals and actions to date. that's because for the most part people listen reports which say the capital gains tax is going to increase by 69%, and never take the time to consider those increases are in large part due to tax rates being raised from record low rates. what htww is doing with is comparing apples to oranges.
to put it another way. i'd be more concerned with a 5% increase in a tax that is high, like say 40%, than i would in a tax rate that is incredibly low, like say 15%. a jump from from 40% to 45% is only a 12.5% increase, where as a jump from 15% to 20% is a 33% increase.

so let's say you have an agi of 1 million dollars, of which all of it is capital gains. only 500k will have that 5.4% surcharge added to it, in which case you're only seeing a 2.7% increase.

The GOP didn't want the provision.
Now, that she is going to allow the sunset provision to expire consistent with her no vote, that is 100% her responsibility since she is in charge of the House of Representatives and could renew it in one day if she wanted to.

Holy hell, man! I normally enjoy your videos, but you really need to do a better job with the audio. I don't mean that HowTheWorldWorks is quiet. Did you even listen to your speech before uploading it? You need to get a pop filter or move the mic off to the side of your mouth, listening to that was unpleasant to say the least.

i know... i know... i've told people before that my microphone sucks. and that's why the audio is usually very quiet. because i usually have to hold the mic back about 2 feet from my mouth to keep that from happening. the only problem with that though is that the audio can barely be heard. so i decided to try doing a recording close up, because i keep getting complaints about the audio too low. you can't satisfy everyone i guess:-P

There is an interesting phenomena that I don't think you are noticing Sean, and that is the comment rating system. Many of your comments have been "down thumbed" by other users who have watched, rated and responded to this video. They have read your posts, decided that they held no intellectual merit and voted them into obscurity. Your original posts are all still there, it's just that no one can read them because they were deemed unfit. The same has happened to HTWW's comments, not censorship.

Corporate charges are a tax, especially when there are no substitutes, like with health care. Health care premiums have risen 3 times faster than wages and that's a 300% increase over wage growth. Now apply that to many other areas. Competition is being taken away in our society, Amazon now only allows shipping with UPS and I'm avoiding UPS because of there stance with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Why not raise cap gains tax to 85%? and soak the rich further by taxing them at 90% rise the state and local taxes too. and take more out for soc. sec. , medicare, and unemployment. raise cigarette taxes another two bucks. increase sales tax and the estate taxes. more corporate taxes and payroll tax. hike the gas tax. excise tax should go up. then we are on the road to fairness when everyone is BANKRUPT!

that's because for the most part people listen reports which say the capital gains tax is going to increase by 69%, and never take the time to consider those increases are in large part due to tax rates being raised from record low rates. what htww is doing with is comparing apples to oranges.

to put it another way. i'd be more concerned with a 5% increase in a tax that is high, like say 40%, than i would in a tax rate that is incredibly low, like say 15%. a jump from from 40% to 45% is only a 12.5% increase, where as a jump from 15% to 20% is a 33% increase.

idiot, you're claiming that capital gains are going to increase by 69% across the board. that is a flat out lie. and you go a step further to say that pelosi is proposing that increase. she's proposing a 5.4% increase on top of a tax rate which will be 20%. even using your shoddy math computation, that's only a 27% increase, and it only applies to income over 500k/yr for individuals.

The GOP didn't want the provision.
Now, that she is going to allow the sunset provision to expire consistent with her no vote, that is 100% her responsibility since she is in charge of the House of Representatives and could renew it in one day if she wanted to.
