  • I hear this song and can no longer fathom how David got lead on songs like "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" without a fight.

  • Jamerson is killing that bass, and theFunk Brothers are in thegroove pocket on this Joint!!!!!!

  • The original"Lead"singer of the tempts! Face the nation!!!!!! Paul ripped this song like only he could...PEACE. StonieDogStl. ;-]

  • This sounds like this in stereo... which is AWESOME!

I only have the mono version from the Emperors of Soul box set.

  • There can be no substitute for the essence of soul which is epitomized by the Great Paul Williams on this track. The vocals are simply timeless and gut wrenching. Just as fresh as yesterday.

  • Yes sir, these songs had feeling .

  • I have not heard this song by the temps in a long time. Paul was my man!!!! Thank you very much.

  • Some songs never grow and No more water in the well is one of those. The album tempts with a lot of soul had many hits that were release and not released. This might not have been a hit but to true tempts fan it was a grammy award winner. A friend I had not seen in 30 plus years began to sing this song while we were singing some old temptations song. It blew me away because I did'nt think nobody else love this song.

  • Paul could ve song anything to me.....

  • RIP Paul, You will never die.

  • RIP Paul, You will never die.

  • great feelin from paul

  • Now this man should have been with me lol me and David

  • What great vocals by Paul Williams Motown at it's best

  • Great song. Goes back a long way and always brings a smile.

  • You my friend are one of the most knowlegeable person I have ever heard in describing The Great Paul Williams .Thank You so very much.

  • Love this song! Where'd You Get all these pictures they're great, I would love them in my soul collection in pictures. :)

  • R.I.P PAUL

  • I have to make this comment. What Paul is talking about is no more sex to the women he was associated with. In Alabama we used to hold off of having sex with someone you thought was messing around on you. I laugh every time i hear this one song. The south twas something you did not mess with. Black or White, maybe we all should listen to the old songs of yesterday, and learn from them. We all have music in our souls.

  • Paul was so talented. Loved him.

  • No more water in the well,no more. No more water in the well,no more. You take my love for granted like water, water you spill and you wast.

Though love is thicker than water it spills quicker than water and you'll lookup one of these days, and there'll be no more water in the well. How long do you think my love can last thruogh sorrow pain and mistrust? Today my love is strong, but keep doing me wrong and tomorrow it may turn to dust.

  • @PanerabreadEmployee what panera do u work at

  • In any Motown biography you read, you'll find plenty of lament about Paul being gone too soon -and he was- but you'll not find a harsh word about him anywhere. Both everyone inside Motown family, and all the fans of their music speak of Paul with nothing but enduring affection. I'm 55 now and I've been listening (and buying) The Temptations since I was 10. Time has not laid a glove on them and it never will.

  • he was so fine!

  • @cookiymonster411 And hot too!

  • David was definitly with them at this time check out save my love for a rainy day thats him curling all the background notes while eddie sings lead what another great song!

  • i dont think there is anywater left after this song lol

  • well im only in my late 20s but i love the group and there music .......they r relly saying something happy new year 09

  • dalkey this song is the best i though id listen to it cause the song were on my mind and i were sining it in in my head lol all day =)

  • This is wonderful... Thanks for posting.

  • Perfection...

  • believe this is from the Whole lot of soul album...rest in peace Paul

  • Jesus, now this is the high priest, respect...thanks for this nostalgia moment.

  • Amen to that! Thank you for listening Josette!

  • This has such a nice groove to it. And Paul is fabulous!

  • Yeah Paul is fabulous in everything! I found out the other day that if you take out an earphone or turn down the volume on the speaker which has the harmony on this song, all you can hear is Paul on his own without backing, almost acapella, and he sounds so clear and crisp - I reccomend it!

  • really? even the high notes? amazing! is this a temptation song, or is it what Paul was doing when he wanted to branch out on his own?

  • this is the tempts in the years b4 Ruffin join, back when him and Eddie were switching lead parts

  • Nope,Ruffin was in the group when this was recorded. This was recorded in 1966

  • Paul was working that incredible voice on this song. This is from my favorite Tempts album--well at least one of my favorites. I have it on vinyl, cassette and CD--and I downloaded it over the PC. It's entitled, The Temptations: With a Lot o' Soul--that says it all!!!

  • I was lucky to find that album as well on CD, I strongly reccomend 'With a Lot o'Soul' to others, it's an essential collection from The Classic Five era.

  • Thanks for the post. I really enjoyed "Feel Like Givin' Up." I wonder why the video was removed.

  • Cheers! Paul Williams is classy in every way. Yeah I wonder youtube take videos off sometimes, I presume it's copyright laws.

  • I see this as advertisment for the artists and record companies. It's not like people who post music is actually collecting money for everytime the song is played. I have heard how YouTube will get hit with a notice, and they have to move it. People need to relax and let us all enjoy the music. These days and times, we do have great memories.

  • Yeah, good comment, you feel like saying 'just let us enjoy the music'. And it DOES work as advertising for the artists, because without youtube's free exposure to music I may well not have got as hooked as I am on motown, now I own loads of soul cd's (especially the Temps!!) Cheers ioxxd90

  • You tube is the best oldies ONLINE music ever!!!

  • dalkey130388 do you have the Temptations song 'oh what a night?' which had Al Bryant singing lead. I have searched for this song but cant find it anywhere. Thank you

  • No I dont I'm afraid, in fact I've never even heard of it! If Al Bryant sings lead on it I'd love to hear it for sure. You've set me my next challenge zimstyle!! I do have a song by the Dells called oh what a night (both 1956 and 1969), but I'm sure they are unrelated as they were a Chicago soul outfit I believe.

  • oh what a night is by the dells not the temps. that's probrably why you can't find the search.

  • anyone have any idea which collection album Feel like givin' up was on?

  • You can find it on "Motown Year By Year: The Sound of Young America, 1973" and "One by One: The Best of Their Solo Years."

  • wow cool
