ive had this guitar for 4 months and the tune is still in standard, so yes the locking nut/ trem is annoying for tuning/retuning

@The0ManJam Almost all of their guitars are wonderful. It's the kind of thing you have to play to appreciate, someone else's amp with someone else's settings and someone else playing does not even come close to playing it yourself, with your amp and your settings.

That aside, why would you be buying a guitar without playing one to start with? Sounds pretty stupid to me.

@Cyberbob182 Yes, but you would have to re-set the locking trem system to be parallel to the body after as the string tension would be different. Also worth going up a few gauges of string when de-tuning.

I think they need to get someone better at demoing, the playing (especially Van Halen) is pretty sloppy, and the settings are terrible.

@BenCornerGuitar Could not agree more. I played this guitar, it's actually a pretty sweet axe. It's a shame to see it defiled like that by such a sloppy player, with an awful distorted tone to boot.

Am I the only one who think that, for a guitar with EMGs, the distortion sucks on this guitar. I don't know if it's just the video or the guy playing but the only thing that sounded good was the clean settings.

@A7Xile I think they're using a Boss GT 10 or something, and the settings are awfull. I bought the 25th anniversary and the demo they did for that guitar is ugly, that guitar sounds way better with good settings

@A7Xile nah, its because this guy has the wah pedal heel down. Im sure if he could take the wah off for a SECOND you could hear just how amazing this guitar sounds with distortion. I just played one today through a cube amp and i must say it made the Cube amps distortion sound GODLY.

@A7Xile God you're stupit, DISTORTION COMES FROM THE AMP! The amount of gain en output are controlled by the pickup.

Distortion. and overdrive are affected by not only the amp and it's circuitry and whether or not tube or solid state and it's preamp, but also by how hot the pickups are, the type of wood the guitar is made of, hollow or solidbody and several other physical properties.... I tried one these guitars and it played every bit as well and sounded just as good as my Jackson SL-2 that cost 2x the price. Even without the inlays it was easy to find my way on the neck.

it's the guitar, the distortion blows. the guitar needs better pickups, ones that will let the choice of woods shine, not active pickups where the only things affecting the tone besides the pickup are the bridge, action, strings, and fingerboard.

and if so, much depends on the distortion pedal you occupy.

@jasonism123 looks like the 1000 is an ofr made in china. not licensed, same parts as german floyds, just made with chinese labor. i know, floyd rose made things a little more confusing with the whole original floyd being made in 3 different places and not being licensed crap. i played this guitar today good neck carve.

damn i was really starting to get juiced for this guitar too! until i saw the floyd rose bridge :( i had a floyd rose guitar for a while but i changed my tuning setup too much, ra know drop D half step down etc and it was just a pain to fuck with the tning EVERY TIME ugh whatever, the search continues

@kurtcbain95 u know you can just have the bridge locked so that it doesnt function like a tremolo anymore. means you can tune the guitar as and when you want to. get this guitar and do that i reckon

@kurtcbain95 the one thing ive read that can be an issue, especially when you arent playing with a LOUD rig is this. if its lets say in your house, and you can still hear the sound of your actual guitar (the unplugged sound) while you are playing. it might throw you off because youll hear that in standard tuning while the drop tuned sound is coming out of your speakers. just something to think about.
