  • sounds like hes rippin off Beefheart

  • Damn, this song touches on greatness. It could be rock, blues, rock/psychobilly.

  • always liked the sound of guitar/bass harmony

  • This is sooooooooooooooo good :o)

  • Edgar - a truly Great British Eccentric - and a REAL rocker!

  • Me and my mate Stuart stayed behind to look after the band's transit van while they went off to do the Redcar gig. Missed the action but an honour to be part of the scene in those days. OUT DEMONS OUT.

  • Just to say, these were (are) beautiful people !

  • Had most of their albums and saw them live at the roundhouse once what a night that was.

  • @brillo421 Hiya, you may hear Edgar at the start say "We wrote this after Redcar".

I was arrested with The Broughtons at a police aborted free concert broken up in July 1971 at Redcar in County of Cleveland (Teesside). We spent the night in Redcar Jail and appeared at South Bank Magistrates the next day. The magistrates didn't believe a word I said and called me a liar against the made up notebook account of Sergeant Maloney of Stockton Police force. Still good friends and keerp in contact.

  • @Redcarjail Oh yeah Motorhead and the pink fairies. The Only time I saw The Broughtons but they were brilliant. I was well stoned and on mushrooms. I think I found The Broughtons via John Peel on Saturday afternoons.

  • @Redcarjail Great comment - fine piece of Rock history/trivia

  • very gudd music

  • OMG, what a band!!!!

  • Pwecko, Would you believe that I played the same LP only last month. Plenty of scratches but still grear

  • cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Early EBB is like Beefheart but by the third (meat) album they'd really found their own sound.

  • "The planet's in a bad bad way"

  • this song is fucking good!

    oh yeah! oh yeah!

  • Just listening to Sing Brother Sing album. Very much like Captain Beefheart.

  • Right on.

  • first heard thsi on Hrvest bag - 1971

  • YEAH. nothing wrong here, but studio version sounds better.

  • Me too. One of the first albums I ever bought. Great album. Tracks by the Grease Band, Barclay James Harvest, Roy Harper, The Move. I was only 13. I think I sold it. Shame. It's probably worth a fortune now.

  • I was at Redcar Jazz Club, brilliant times, saw band at Robin in Wolverhampton recently, still have energy
