I am against healthcare. This man bothers me for one reason in that he was an executive, did his 20 years and cashed out. What we need are executive/s with morals like this guy to stay and reform the company/ies from within. That's when he realized just what this country is really going through with health care. Before that, he was ignorant of what was really happening. He saw health insurance as a commodity, not something that was affecting humans. A lot of people do. I don't fault him. Simply because he has realized what he stood with. If he retired and went on his way, that would be one thing, instead, he decided to speak out.

@maximouni it is so difficult to understand for you these companies only think about the money? well, it's your problem if you don't want a universal public healthcare system, as we have in most of European countries. It's just as simple as to pay a little extra tax fee every time you recieve your income. My father needed surgery in the eyes; it was for free in a public hospital. As he's retired, medicines are free for him. Just a small extra tax fee on every income, remember. It's your health.

MY insurance premiums have gone up 300% in 9 years.

One of my medications, a one of a kind medication, had co-pay increases of 1000% in 8 1/2 years. My premiums have risen $246.00 per month in the last 2 years.

My medical insurance premiums have almost tripled in the last 2 1/2 years (without any significant health problems). I'm currently paying more than $500/month in premiums alone. At this rate I may not be able to afford medical insurance much longer. I've also got a friend that had to discontinue his medical insurance when the rate went above $800/month.

What's really disconcerting is that I've paid 10s of thousands of dollars in basic medical premiums. However, if I get really sick, chances are my insurance company will pay out a fraction of what I've given them and then discontinue my coverage. - Unfortunately, this happens every day to people in the US.
