  • WASTEGATE! LOL..... I know tons of kids with trucks that try and make them surge. They think its cool. I tell them its horrible for it and they say no its the blowoff valve..... Ur not in a Honda bud.... Morons

  • i call it my self cleaning air filter! lol

  • powerstrokes dont have wastegates!!!

what it is is all the excess boost pressure has no where to go. So it goes back into your intake. its called a turbo surge. Or if you are from the south its a called a turbo fart

  • thats no wastegate its the excess boost blowing backwards through the compressor. sounds cool but is very hars on the vgt turbo on the 6.o

  • those are turbo farts man

  • Thats custom, you added a waste gate to a VVT nice work..

  • @jmac5058 its a VGT

  • no wastegate your going to break the turbo

  • bad bad bad. surging like that...

  • Waste gate?? Do you even know what a waste gate is?? Thats excess boost, its more amplified from an aftermarket intake. Before you upload a video and put a title on it, make sure you know ur facts. Some people......

  • turbo bark is a good way snap turbine shafts

  • Turbo bark- extra boost coming out the intake

  • sooo what do you have done? ;-)

  • its a good thing to get a hard on from this :) me gusta :)))

  • hmmm. compressor surge

  • Comment removed

  • 6.0s dont have WASTEGATES

  • that's called compressor surge!!! not waste gate.. poor vgt :(

  • lol thats not the wastegate your hearing.

  • i would have to say, i got a lil excited when i heard this diesel lol, awesome truck

  • waste gate hahaha dummy!

  • Sorry bro but thats called a Blow off Valve

  • @iizRoCkrzii34 Its neither. COMPRESSOR SURGE google it.....

  • @iizRoCkrzii34 A blow-off valve is utilized a lot in gasoline engines, but NOT ever in diesel applications because they don't have a throttle plate!!! The sound that you were hearing is a turbo fart or compressor surge. Also, 6.0L diesel does NOT have a wastegate, boost is regulated with the variable geometry vanes on the exhaust side of the turbo.

  • @iizRoCkrzii34 no sir thats called turbo surge

  • @LowDexPro I never said they could

  • Turbo fart!!

  • Turbine shaft play can also be dangerous and can sometimes be caused by compressor surge

  • @ everyone with the stupid names to that sound. Its called compressor surge. Its when there's a turbo charged vehicle without a blow-off valve there's excess air that goes back into the turbo the opposite way which can stall the turbo making the sound that you hear. It can still happen even if there's a blow-off valve but its most likely to happen and more dangerous on a turbo charged vehicle without one

  • @silentslayer911 Well thats too bad. Diesel's can't have blow off valves.

  • @ MIKESPEED... ITS ALSO CALLED BACKWASH OR TURBO SURGE. IT WILL DESTROY YOUR TURBO OVER TIME. SOUNDS COOL BUT THATS ABOUT IT. 30K RPM TO 0 IN A NANO SECOND. BAD

  • @matthewfilicicchia thats not what your hearing, 30K revolution to 0 in a nano second, what your hearing is the air around the turbo spinning faster than the compressor wheel, making the chopping sound you hear.

  • Thats turbo surge! Very bad!

  • Looks to me like the ford is spinnin all four but still the chevy wont budge. Seems like the ford aint tough enough to beat a chevy

  • @duramaxjad4 It's based on traction not power you retard. Did you know duramax is japanese?

  • @duramaxjad4 Christ. I can't believe you just typed that.

  • @bisquik3006 i was being sarcastic

  • hahaha tied to a chevy and it couldnt move!

  • your going to kill the turbo in that truck real quick. Compressor surge will kill the bearings in that thing

  • @silver2002ta its not surge it "turbo bark" it normal in power strokes just read mikespeed100 in top coment

  • most diesels dont have wastegates, for the same reason they dont have throttle plates

  • @mpaoness what do you mean??? All turbo diesels have waste gates and actuators otherwise there is no way to control boost pressure.

  • @DanDanNissanMan most diesels have a VGT which controls the pressure

  • @mpaoness find them on trucks? They wont allow you to run high boost pressure or to alter the boost

  • @DanDanNissanMan what do you mean by that? theres lots of tuners you can choose from to up the boost on a diesel

  • @DanDanNissanMan If you have a VGT turbo you cant run high boost pressure. There for large capacity diesel engines that run low boost with larger turbos.

  • @DanDanNissanMan my 6.0 makes a little over 20psi and its stock right now. friend of mine has a bullydog with custom tune in his 6.0 and he peaks just shy of 40. how high you talkin? cause 40psi is pretty high considering he hasnt even done studs yet

  • @mpaoness oh fuckt if i know, thats what i thought anyhow. Iv got a terrano/pathfinder with a tiny 2.7 TDI 4 cylinder. Thats just got the standard waste gate. ; D

  • @DanDanNissanMan i work for mack trucks and i can tell you none of the on highway trucks have wastegates, high performance applications may but i cant see it being necessary. no BOVs either, these engines want all the air they can get

  • @mpaoness nothing in today's emissions standards, but the pre-CCRS E-TECH's (around 2000-2001) use a wastegated turbo. we just block them off when replacing turbo though.

  • compressor surge is extremely bad for turbos.. they definitely were not meant to spin the wrong way..

  • It's called compressor surge, a blow off valve will keep this from happening

  • Comment removed

  • wastegate? lol. Sounds like compressor surge back spooling the turbo. Thats not a sound you want to hear.

  • @therealdeal989 its not bad for the truck all it is the truck makes boost and when u let off the throttle it goes back out the air intake it dont hurt nothing

  • @jakethesnake121394 Okay, enjoy then. You should watch some vids on Wastegates and Turbo surge. Youll realize 2 things. 1, this truck does not have a wastegate, 2, it has compressor surge.

  • I find it funny how everyone is calling each other (Brand of engine)Joke. Seriously? ANY truck will last you so long as you take care of it. Ive seen Cummins, Duramaxes and Powerstrokes broken down before. Its not the truck its the person who owns it.

So lets focus on the real jokes... those imported trucks. >:)

  • @Mugsey661 like duramax?Isuzu. lol.

  • @Mugsey661 i hate yotas lol

  • @Mugsey661 "So lets focus on the real jokes... those imported trucks. >:)" ROOROFL!

  • @Mugsey661 Nicely said!

  • @Mugsey661 fuck this guy hit the nail on the head here.

  • such a POS truck. Get yourself a cummins and you wont have to worry about any problems.

  • that's boost flutter, the compressed air rushes back through the compressor. Not a wastegate

  • nice truck man

  • 6.0s dont have wastegates.........

  • yea that will really fuck up the turbo you idiot

  • hahaha, noobs. "bro! sounds sick!" yea, does wonders to your motor!

  • @camarophil01 still badass

  • oh and BTW thats not a wastegate thats your turbo surging

  • @amaple312 6.0s do not have head stud failure and studs wont break!! the stock 6.0 has head bolts that are known to stretch under high pressure causing head gasket failure, thats why everyone runs head studs their a lot stronger and will not stretch, so no they are not known for head stud failure

  • @amaple312 the 2011's dont have a 6.4 they have a 6.7L

  • @amaple312 i see duraJOKES all the time on the side of the rode and in the shop but i always see fords on the road everywhere pullin shit and and have seen a lot of new 2011 super duty's as EMS trucks

  • @amaple312 fool its a powerstroke and its the durajoke and (cum)-mins and no they did not end there contract with ford because they keep breaking on them and i also live in texas and i hardly see any dodge EMS trucks all i see is ford.

  • @amaple312 ok really thats why the F- series are the best work trucks, tow trucks, EMS truck...and are most used by a lot of company's than chevy or dodge oh yea and piece of shit jeep

  • @amaple312 ha wow they are not know for head stud failure and the 6.0's and 6.4's were some of the fastest super duty's there were.

  • I traded mine cause Ford dealer told me that's a sign of Turbo beening locked up

  • @amaple312 not on a ford they won't

  • @amaple312 its on purpose he could drag that toyota if he wanted to all the way down the street(:

  • FLUTTAH ..... "chu chu chu chu"...... :3

  • all that chrome garbage makes that truck look like a beaner mobile.......all you need is some hubcap spinners!!!!

  • should've bought a cummins. that 6 liter is garbage

  • The sound you are hearing is called turbo bark. It's because the turbo is making alot of boost and then when you suddenly drop the throttle, the engine can't consume that much boost, so it goes back out the air intake.

  • @mikespeed100 which is very bad for turbos, can snap a shaft

  • @boosteddiesel its not bad for the turbo but you can snap a shaft in 4wd like that

  • @jakethesnake121394 turbo bark can snap the turbine shaft so it is definitely bad for the turbo. all the sudden that compressor wheel is being pushed the opposite direction. hard on that shaft

  • @jakethesnake121394 of course it is bad for it, boost pressure backfiring back into the turbo. i don't understand what 4x4 has anything to do with a turbo barking.

  • @jakethesnake121394 its not bad for the turbo are you fuckin serious? do you even realize what happens when you drop that much boost it doesnt just go out the intake its compressor surge ur basically forcing the turbo to spin the oppiste direction it kills the bearings id be less worried about snappin a shaft and more worried about a turbo..

  • @mikespeed100 in otherwords he needs a bov to release this pressure

  • 6.0 does not have a wastegate anywhere on or in it. I have had the one off of my dads truck tore apart and put back together. The variable vanes adjust the boost given to the engine. It's like constantly adjusting the size of your exhaust turbine. Some people need to check up on their info before they mouth off.

  • why is your name mud grappler and you dont have them

  • got to love that compreser surge!

  • hahaha ford cant pull a parked truck.

  • a lil to much chrome

  • @MEADOWSracing78 never too much chrome for mall crawlers like that one. i bet he even has LED lights!

  • @mrtaterman true. atleast it aint a nigger car!

  • hey MNgooseGrinder09 what the fuc are you driving thats so damn amazing that you think you can talk shit about this guys truck, why dont you just admit that this is a badasstruck and i know you think this otherwise ou wouldnt be waisting your time talking shit ya fuckin pussy

  • nice truck man what kinda exhuast u have on that?

  • @VCDCDCDCD A few years? 2003-2007. After head studs, EGR Delete and a straight pipe the mother fucker will live forever.

  • @MrTpengineer there's a difference between aftermarket upgraded turbos vs stock turbo applications. The shaft on the aftermarket turbos are a helluva lot stronger and a lot beefier... even tho the noise sounds pretty cool it's bad on the turbo. You might wanna google it and you'll see.. 

  • sounds like turbo bark to me

  • @philamato turbo bark or surge i was thinkin too

  • Haha apparently you have no clue about waste gates. They make no sound, that sound is called back spool and it bad on the turbo..

  • @Deepinher01 What? So if all fords make that sound there killing themselves? 90% of burnout or pull video's on youtube with a ford diesel of some kind makes that sound, it's fine, I think you need too stop getting bad sources.

  • omg. i could wack off to this video dude.

  • sick truck, people are fuckin stupid bashing every video, obviously they liked what they saw cause they clicked onto it lol

  • that's your compressor wheels spinning the wrong way. Not good for turbo. The wastegate opens when the boost psi is too high.

  • .0's dont have wastegates. They control boost by opening and closing veins around the exhaust turbine hence the name variable geometry turbo. Veins closed acts like a small turbo, veins open acts like a big turbo.

  • turbo fart lol

  • it BACKSPOOL!!! (jakey50) is right

  • that ford is gay. motor is gayer and the driver is the gayest

  • @MNgooseGrinder09 Fuck off Troll... If you hate Ford and Powerstroke.... Then what the fuck are you doing here????????????????? Fucking dumbass

  • Nope... No waste gate bud.. That sound is the turbo acctually spinning backwards, thats bad so stop lol.. all the boost and nowhere to go.. NICE TRUCK!

  • Holy turbo surge batman

  • sounds like its laughing lol

  • the veins are the wastegate fyi. and the sound is called surge. put your hand on the filter brake boost it and let off you feel air come out the intake....hence the sound.

  • custom sct tuning??

  • no waste gate in the 6.0 Powerstroke...... variable vain turbo with electronic pressure release....not a wastegate, a dump valve

  • what the hell is a waste gate? I feel old for not knowing this shit...

  • your the guy on the highway that races SS Trailblazers and gets killed

  • fuck all the assholes that truck looks good and its bad ass.

  • ANd no disrespect bro but those rims dont look good with the truck!!

  • sweet truck lol have you tried disconnecting the VGT sensor lol

  • ur truck sounds like sex!!!! i love it!!!

  • PILE!!

  • Um try 4lo and also that is your turbo back sputtering not waste gate!

  • fyi not your wastegate bud. not only do you not have one but that noise is known as a turbo fart. your compresser wheel and shaft are saying fuck you in turbo language.

  • nice truck its probably the nicest one ive seen on youtube, the chevy ur pulling sucks. keep pulling those piece of of junk chevys!

  • if youve ever seen a truck with a blow off valve, its purpose is to eliminate or greatly reduce turbo bark.

if you have a wastegate, its going to be activated when your engine is under a load producing high amounts of boost, not when you let off the throttle.

  • thats not the sound of your wastegate. thats the sound known as turbo bark, which is very hard on your turbo. basically whats happening is when you let off the throttle very quickly while making boost, your compressor turbine stops turning the way direction it was, and reverses itself for a split second, which is very hard on the shaft the compressor turbine is mounted on. wont immediately break your turbo, but if done regularly, it can mess up some expensive stuff.

  • @EasternAggie doesnt the only happen if theres a throttle body?

i thoght that was always y desiels never had a blow off vavle no throttle body to back up the boosst

  • @firat123456789

yes that is true but some still run BOVs on diesels. heres what i found:

"Exceptions also occur in Modified applications where turbo shaft speeds and drive pressures are MUCH higher. Turbo failure is a well known side effect of pushing a turbo to it's limits on a diesel engine. Proper turbo charging can avoid these problems, but sometimes it isn't practical or affordable. So the compromise is to program a BOV into the TPS or APPS or with a micro switch to solve the problem"

  • man dont let bitches talk shit you have a nast ass powerstroke no doubt

  • thats awesome!!!!

  • and no u couldnt drag that chevy pal....what u think with more loss of traction it was going to start to move....what a clown...lol

  • isnt that the turbo fluttering because of the instant backpressur??

  • Nice turbo surge. I give it 40,000 miles max then BOOM by by turbo

  • Well if your so smart and everyone else is wrong, maybe you should learn how to spell "TORQUE" get an education

  • thatz sick xD

  • hope you upgraded your head studs....nice truck though...for a 6oh :P

  • If you put that thing in 4x4 low that would easily pull that truck. haha

  • id like to get me some of that ford...id love to see the headlights in my rear view

  • My truck turbo got stuck open from build up and it made the same noise when i let off the throttle sorry but no waste gate just air going back out the air filter.

  • just another diesel douche. Ive read his comments and he fits the stereotype perfectly. and before you talk about an electronic waste gate i think you need to re-research cause either you didn't look or they fed you crap and you believed it. your only driving that jacked up black smoking pos because your trying to make up for what you dont have.

  • @texastboneking....for what he doesnt have. The same reason youre arguing for no reason

  • hey my truck makes that noise but its quieter. How can i make it louder?

  • wish i had daddys money.....u faggot

  • I work at a Ford dealership and I can tell you idiots the 6.0 does not have a wastegate. I mentioned something to the diesel tech about a wastegate while talking about 6.0's and he corrected me and explained the variable cane turbo.

  • beautiful truck man and these guys dont know what the fuck they are talking about none of them prolly own or will ever own a 6.0

  • Thats the turbo backlashing. Not a wastegate. And its not good at all for your turbo.

  • i bet the breaks wernt on on the chevy

  • ya thats not good for the truck becareful with that, just some advice.

  • have u ever had problems with turbo surge? my 05 has been doin it for some atleast atleast i think thats it when it under load and lower rpms it boosts then stops and then jus repeats it a bunch till it shifts to overdrive...im confused on it

  • @powerstrokn89 no it takes a while fore it to do any noteicable damage

  • Change the title already so you don't look like a fool...

  • @giannicash k or u can jump off a fucking cliff!

  • @mudgrappler60 Stop showing your ignorance about your "brothers" truck. Go to school kid. The wastegate dumps on the compressor side of the turbo not the impeller side. The VGT vanes control the amount of exhaust backpressure inside the turbo. Your describing the VGT actuator not an internal electronic waste gate you freaking tool. Stop ranting about your brothers mediocre truck and get your own. Get off bro's dic and go back to school.

  • Glad mine stopped doing it after the full EGR delete intake manifold and solid up-pipe

  • nice turbo "surge" sound

  • No W/G at all... controlled by the veins in the turbo

  • ha it couldnt move a parked truck!!! some torque!!!

  • @fireman549549 it was on porpouse dip shit i could drag that peace of shit maxipad

  • @mudgrappler60 dude man stop being an angry hillbilly with a sweet truck man. simmer down its youtube brah. BRAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

  • @mudgrappler60 holy shit me and my friend came up with that for chevys duramax probably not the first but i thought we were the only ones who thought of it XD god damn maxipads and them fucking cumaparts

  • @mudgrappler60 if you could drag it u wouldnt have been spinning , and thats called turbo bark dumb ass not the wate gate

  • @fireman549549 just cause the tires spin doesnt mean it doesnt have torque dipshit

  • @ryanxm22 you should have called him a dipstick

  • your truck does not have a waste gate is is a veriable veined turbo and when it reaches its boost limit the veins open up and act as a waste gate to relieve pressure...

    ford 6.0 = no wastegate

  • @7642604 omg you people need to allkick yourselfs in the nutsack and then go to a for dealer ask the mother fuckers a 6.0 l ford diesel has a internal electronic waste gate. even some after market turbos have them

  • @mudgrappler60 Youre wrong, the other guy was right. 6.0s do not have a wastegate, internal nor external, period. Kick your own self in the nutsack.

  • @mudgrappler60 nah im pretty sure hes right. i mean. cmon really? lol

  • @mudgrappler60 actually 7642604 is right fords 6.0l have veins that open and close so there is no need for a waste gate thats also why the tow and haul works as a engine brake because it close the veins choked the engine when you let off the gas

  • @mudgrappler60 hate to tell ya but u r wrong! they do NOT have a waste gate 7642604 is correct!!
