This is one of the coolest political ads I've ever seen. Gary Johnson is the man. He is exactly what this country needs...a sensible mind with Libertarian values that attract people from the right and the left.
Gary Johnson, you have my support! Right now I am offering my financial support to Ron Paul because I know he can win in 2012. I would love to see you in office in 2016 or 2020, when Dr. Paul is done with the presidency. Any other person would just be a return to the establishment, with policies that support invading other countries and arresting our own citizens.
I think Johnson is more on track than maybe he gives himself credit for. The default expectation going into this was that he would flounder against Paul but would be able to establish himself for 2016. That Paul would lose in 2012 but his ideas and momentum, along with the collapse, would be enough to put Johnson in position for a 2016 win. America's Gorbacev. I think that's how it's playing out. Except for the fact Paul is outperforming expectations. Good problem to have.
Gary Johnson is by far the best candidate to run against Barry Soetoro in 2012. I watched him in New Mexico while he was governor and was impressed by his effectiveness. I hope his message gets more attention, America depends on it!
Gary, would love to see you in the White House, but this ad is not gonna break you out of the fringe candidate category. Ok, you're in great shape but where are pictures of the unemployed, body bags from Afghanistan, families on food stamps, and Bernanke? You've got to step it up several notches to get noticed. If 75 yr old Ron Paul can get a legion of volunteers why can't you? You have practically the same platforms!
to win he also has to steer the questions he gets back to his acomplishments as governor and away from his rational analysis of the drug war. its the medias attempt to make him look weird.
@nyknicks2315 Not bad. Even better: President Gary Johnson, Vice President Ron Paul. ;) Ron Paul might also be pretty good in State, Defense or Treasury. Or, Federal Reserve. ;) (Seriously, who better than a skeptic of the Fed to head it, as long as it exists?)
Too bad the media decides who the "front-runner" is. It'd be nice to have another liberty-oriented candidate in the debates. RP and GJ could be tag teaming the neocons into submission. Another part of the problem is the Republican party itself, which sadly, is pretty theocratic, bigoted, and neocon in nature.
I remember when John Kerry wanted to be the productive, exercising alternative to George W. Bush back in 2004. Eat your heart out Kerry and the rest of these big government pigs.
To win Gary needs to stress the importance of the 10th! everything needs to go back to the states. if californians want single payer, they can vote on it, pay for it and have it., same goes for climate policies, gay marriage, high speed rail and marijuana. If floridians want to drill, georgians want religion taught at school, suv's, and rare beef they can have it too. the only way for a libertarian republican to win is to hand everything to the states.
@58robbo -Climate policies do not work on a state or even national level. Anyone who tries to push them through is ignorant of this fact. If your neighbor is still polluting just the same you will still have pollution. Unlike people, goods, and services the air around cannot be confined by any border so we need an international solution if we are going to do anything at all. I'm a libertarian and a GJ supporter however on environmental issues the smaller government idea simply does not work.
@jonathanmollet1 sorry, i just don't buy into climate change as a theory and i'd favor doing nothing at all. in fact i cannot think of a time when govt got involved in anything that their cures weren't worse than the disease they aimed to treat, the enviroment is no different. california nevertheless had an impact on auto manufacturers when it set emission stds. property rights could be used to counteract real environmental problems. i get very scared when they talk about global policies

Ron Paul can be in two places now when he dies. One in Rand Paul, and the other in Gary Johnson.
Or something.
