4. The modern Internet is vastly different from the Government funded predecessor to the Internet. The American Internet is a product of the free market and America dominates the Internet. Verizon is spending billions of dollars deploying FiOS. Comcast and AT&T to a lesser extent is deploying DOCSIS 3.0 and U-Verse respectively.
5. Muni Wi-Fi is a very poor substitute for Internet access. You have relatively few access points being used by a LOT of people.

1. To the camera man, please stop jerking the camera around and zooming in and out.
2. We could do without the cheap attacks on Bush and Stevens and stick with the issue at hand. Whether you like Bush or not is not the point, the point is that it's not the issue here.
3. Japan doesn't have "1000 times faster Internet".
