i liked your sarcastic example better. why can't people just say 'asian'? when they don't know. the commercial is a japanese commercial on lsd, it's got some very japanese features to it about the anime, the color scheme and peppiness and especially the giggling girls. but serenity's a movie in english and chinese and the guy is definately speaking chinese.

i don't care if i'm nitpicking. i think if you called a peruvian, an argentian, etc, "a mexican" it would be hurtful. just the same.
