  • the doses are wrong. The Negroni is one of the cocktails that is made with a base of alcohol that is average to 2oz.Because the rule is that cocktails that have only one alcohol needs to have 1 1/4 oz,and with 2 ore more than 2 is 2oz.The negroni is made by the same dose 3/4 oz gin 3/4 vermuth(martini red) 3/4bitter /campari)

  • I can't believe this guy! He just ruined my favorite cocktail! As posted below - never shake a Negroni and do not put in a martini glass. Also, if you want a proper orange zest flamer the piece he's using is not wide enough. Buddy take some time to learn before you try to teach others!

  • Amateur hour

  • it is good fun to watch though. Where he my bartender I would punch him in the gonads.

  • By the Way,

Negroni is not a Shaken cocktail but stirred

  • I'm glad you all know how wrong this is! A martini glass? I can't believe he overused the word Traditional, obviously hasn't done his research. Just to clear, it's equal parts stirred and strained into a rocks glass filled with new ice. Then garnished with an orange zest or even a slice which if you prefer. And if you flame something you MUST DO IT OVER THE GLASS. Preferably using a match, as gas destroys the flavour of the oil, or if your fancy, grab a cigar lighter which has no gas smell etc.

  • so...i have to wait 7 minutes to give me that cocktail ? NO TIP 4 YOU MISTER!!!!!!!!

  • i cant believe you shook that and stuck it in that glass!

  • That's the worst Negroni I've ever seen... NO shaking & NO Martini glass!

Please don't make our beloved italian classic some kind of yankee stuff... ^^

  • My teacher paul from abc bartending school loves this drink.

  • quit looking down her shirt!

  • un desastre

  • WTF!!

This is the worst recipie for a Negroni I've ever seen!!

Negroni is a stirred drink, never shaken!

  • "... so I'm gonna hold the flame and I want you to squirt right through it."

Yes... I'd love to see that.

  • Nice to see a father spending quality time with his daughter.

  • the way this guy made the Negroni he should've called it: "Negroni Sbagliatissimo'.. Extremely mistaken/wrong Negroni. Why in the world would you shake gin, vermouth and campari.. you stir it and it is NEVER EVER served in a martini glass. I hope no would-be bartender uses this as a guide to make the Negroni. EPIC Fail beyond belief.

  • i was thinking the same thing about the glass choice.

  • does anyone know any sweet cocktails?

  • Stir it babe! Stir it!

And stop using the tin, use the stirring glass.

The orange peel is a nice touch, not part of the classic recipe tough. What it does is add a caramelized flavor on the top.

  • what does flaming the orange peel actually add?

  • lol what? Why does it look all cloudy and have foam on the top?

I love Campari, and like to drink Negroni but I think I probably don't make it right. I usually just put in lots of ice then just mix equal parts gin vermouth and campari and stir it up. Still pretty good,

  • if someone served me that crap i'd bottle the bastard that served it. stop making real bartenders look bad

  • one: why the fuck does it have head it's not a beer

two:it's stirred and strained not shaken so it tastes like watery crap

three: the garnish looks crappy.its better to use a cube of orange.

four: it's a rock glass not a martini glass

five:if you must serve it straight up, chill the glass don't shake it in a shaker.

are you even a bartender or just some tubby dude in his garage making crap videos

  • beautiful boobs, mmmmmmmmm

  • hahahahahahah

I am presently drinking a "Negroni" with Vodka (No Gin in the House. The local bottlo does not stock Tanqueray (spelling?) and I aint buying Beefeater. Chinzano Dry, Campari and a Soda Spritzer with a Sicilian Green Olive.

    Like whatever with the recipes.

But then I would state that it is a VARIATION on the Negroni

  • italian culture has just died, this guy vids have ALWAYS something wrong, negroni doesn't have any lemon, its not shaked, and never served in a martini glass, its on the rocks dude!! and if you are gonna shake it anyway, at least chill the damn glass

  • noob

  • uhm... Negroni is Simply Red Martini, Campari and Gin... ON THE ROCKS!!! served in a tumbler with an orange slice...

and please, don't shake it, MIX IT!!!

VIVA IL NEGRONI, RIGOROSAMENTE NON SBAGLIATO!!!

  • yeah, kinda stupid.. should be on the rocks in an old fashioned glass.. and i usually ask the guest if they want some angostura, then stir it and done.. now that's a classic!

  • uuuuuuuuuuf

his shakeing is telling uyou everything!!!!!!!

  • drinking is bad for you smoke pot

  • never in a martini glass..

    never shake and strain..

    on the rocks..

    no bloody lemon..

    asshole

  • rubbish

  • Years of Italian culture and heritage ruined..

  • THIS IS NOT A NEGRONI !!!! where is the angostura ?? MIX , NO SHAKING !!!!

put that drink in the rocks and never in a Martini Glass - limon ??? its wrong , we use orange

  • A Negroni does not have angostura, the recipe is as described:

    3.0 cl Gin

    3.0 cl Campari

    3.0 cl Sweet Red Vermouth

    (1 oz of each)

I agree it should be served stirred in a rocks glass. And if memory serves me the garnish is an orange slice. I have certainly had a Negroni served with a lemon twist as above.

  • IN Italy ( where Negroni is born ) is 1/3 1/3 1/3 of Martini Rosso, Campari, Gin ( Tanqueray is better ) and finally a slice of orange. Negroni is not shaking... goodbye. Maybe is different in every part of world this drink...

  • way too much vermouth! gross! and put that drink on the rocks.

  • that doesnt look very nice..

  • That doesn't look like a Negroni XD

  • martini glass??????????

  • omg

so bad! Never shake a Negroni! - stirr

  • This is obviously NOT a Negroni. 1/3 Gin, 1/3 Red Vermouth (Red Martini, in Italy), 1/3 Bitter Campari: put everything in a low tumbler with 3-4 ice cubes and MIX it (NO SHAKING!!!!). Serve with a slice of orange...too hard for this guy??? -___-

  • lol these people look like fags!

  • i'm an italian negroni drinker. this is sooooo wrong.

  • negroni is in the rocks with orange decoration and cherry

  • negroni.. Gin, campari and red vermouth in lowball with a slice of orange. This looks like a mix of cosmo and negroni, but there are many ways to make a drink.

  • You told the way i make and the way it's supposed to be as far as I know =)

  • Except for the choice of garnish, this is the exact same recipe Campari uses in their Negroni recipe.

I would stir/wouldn't use a martini glass, but really that has no bearing on the drink.

  • There are so many mistakes! I'm not even going to start as there's only enough room for 5oo characters, and I could write a fucking essay on how shit this dude is. Americans man! You invented the fucking things - cocktails - Why don't you read some fucking history and learn how to do things properly.

  • funny guy hhahahaha lol

  • Nice demo, guys!

    Looks refreshing!

    JM

  • Shaken?

    ....

    NGHHH, IT HURTS!!!

  • Hey Anthony!! Would just like to say that your videos are great. Very inforamative. Where are you based? From the ing. and methods I'm guessing you are on the East Coast. Glad to see another bartender using proper techniques and proper terms. Keep up the great work!!

  • If you enjoy "Art of the Drink," please select "Share Video" above and spread the word -- thanks!
