im so pissed off ive wanted this game since like 1 year ago but i go to a game stop and they never fucking have it ive just quit looking for it 2 months ago, and i went into one like a week ago and was like oh hey what they hell they may have it now but NO THEY NEVER FUCKING CARRY ANY GAME I WANT!!!! that happend to me with dementium the ward and still cant find it and also with Twilight princess like 3 years ago but i go to wal mart and they have it there O_o but not for this GAME!!!

Dude, you obviously havent played many Castlevania games... you dont even know where half of them are even from... Carmilla is from almost all of the games.

@cyranthus Excuse me for not recalling the characters. Also, Carmilla only appeared in FOUR Castlevania titles, including this one. Not even close to "almost all" the games. Don't remember much of Castlevania 3 as i haven't played it since my single digit years, and haven't cared for nor followed the series much after Rondo of Blood.

The idea of fighting was good, the application was just mediocre, too short, few characters, no alternate costumes, poor extras and the artwork is specially pathetic

I think this game looks awesome sure the character art is a bit wierd alucard does not look like alucard at all but oh well and sure it may not be a true fighter but it looks like a fun game with bad ass CV tunes playing in the background. and i wouldnt mind the whole running around the stage it looks cool as if your figthing a boss on regular CV adventure game

This didn't seem like much of a review to me. More like, 'I'm mad people are bashing this game I like, so Ima tell them there subjective opinion is wrong'. If anyone actually thought people had high expectations for this game to be a serious fighter, and that's why it was bashed, I think they're seriously misguided. Game struck no chords with anyone as it was too shitty a fighter for FG players and alienated CV fanbase with bastardized designs. A really poor experience all-around, imo.

The complaint I personally have is the ridiculous amount of easy 75% hp, and there are 100% combos with some chars as well... It is usually a battle of who ever gets the first hit with a versus match.

It is a great game, I am a huge beat-em up fan and a huge castlevania fan and I am having a blast on it.

Yes its not true to older artworks but I think they have given the characters some decent enough costumes and the themes of each are very well portrayed.

The music is fantastic, scenery also great and each character although has some buttons for moves but has very different attacks and will have noticibly different style of play (different types of dodge for each character also).

I plan on getting game as it dies look fun. My only complaint is the art direction. I have no idea why they hired the character designer of Death Note to redesign the characters beyond recognition. I myself I'm not very knowledgeable on Castlevania , but I did check some of the original characters and designs, and the change is too much. Grant looks nothing like that. Though I like Cornell's design. I didn't Alucard's design at all nor care for his super move. Yes, Alucard fan here... x.x

FYI: Carmilla is supposedly that crying mask boss in Simon's Quest. She reappears in Circle of the Moon as some kinda demon chick riding a skull... I dunno.

Anyway, nice review. I'm a Soul Calibur guy, myself, and I found this game enjoyable anyway.

40 hrs in this game, and I'm still having a blast with it. Great game, a very different fighter but very fun and well made.

Not really. Everyone pretty much uses the same commands for moves, but it's still fun to learn to combos. That's where the game got interesting for me. The combos and air juggles.

Good review man! Its really hard to trust website reviews anymore, beacuse they are extremly nitpicking. They say its frustating to play; well if that's true, then Why have I been having a blast playing this game? I played it for days without even touching other games, and i'm not even the most hardcore castlevania fan, I played some of them, mostly the new ones, and I still loved this game. It could be deeper I agree, but as the first entry to a fighting game, it did a nice job IMO. =)

Oh, so this fighting game was supposed to be a joke rather than a "Serious Fighting Game"...? I guess that means I'm a dumbass then. But it also means that this game was supposed to be a "Joke" and insult REAL Castlevania fans. So no worrys right? Takeshi Obata fucked the image of my favorite fictional characters up. Maria looks like Misa, because Obata was the character designer of this game. Obata was the artist for Death Note. I was excited when I heard he was going to design the Judgement game, though, I expected a more Ayami Kojima style, he has more than enough skill to emulate her style. I should've expected them to look a little strange, due to Obata's penchant for fashion and accessories.

I loved the hell out of CV 1 and 2, Bloodlines, SCV IV and Rondo of Blood though.

Ah I see. It's not as good as Rondo of Blood but it's definitely one of my favorite stage based Castlevania games.

How's the online play? It's pretty much the deciding factor for me to buy it. I heard it's kinda unbalanced, like Dracula is OP or something.
