These look sick as hell. I live in an area where the grass is really matted and really harm to poke through. I usually fish Texas rigged but I wind up with a lot of grass between the sinker and line. I'm going to try this technique this season but Lee's only seems to have 1 1/4 oz and 1 1/2 oz weights. Hope they get more and Tackle Warehouse doesn't have them on their website.
dude if your looking for a deadly punch set up try a bobber stop with a 1 ounce or 1 1/2 ounce bullet sinker with a paychecks bait punchskirt with a paycheck punch hoook and a reaction innovations sweet beaver!deadly setup
It's a nice alternative way to rig a crawfish. I suppose it can make it look more like a crawfish specifically, because it "crawls" forward. However, I think I would probably hook it the normal way most of the time (so it swims backward, the way crawfish normally swim, especially when in danger) but it's another option to have, so that's cool. All in all, nice video. Thumbs up everyone!
nice video! but can you make others like this guiding people like me to lern like can you do this rig on a tub ect? maybe even this one too message me back on my home wall thing. Thanks
@goatkiller68 i fished busse lake couple times and had horrible luck. maybe i went on a wrong day. i'd been having alot of success at beck lake with the zappy p.d chopper on an ammonite shad
hows the action on that? I'm picturing the craw looking clumsy and strange, but do the appendages float?? Really great rig tho, I love seeing new setups - I'm gonna give those weights a whirl

@fishingdaybyday you should have just written that on a piece of cardboard, taken a pic of yourself holding it, end the message with 'god bless' and post it
@TopAZangler what size hook are you using on that? looks like a 4/0......have you been getting alot of success with the hook up rates? i use a owners twist lock 4/0 and its perfect for it but every hookset i make.........nada ( -_-. )
@TopAZangler i use it around rocks or trees in open water...works awesome...jackell cover craw is just the best...only problem..they cant hold up to the blue gill nibbles..
@TopAZangler it's not supposed to mimic a swimming craw. it's supposed to look like one in a defensive position (craws up). Instead of throwing it out and "swimming" it back like you do with a jig, you punch it through mats or pitch it in thick grass, etc., give it a few shakes, and repeat. So you're never actually "swimming" it. Having the hook eye at the head and the weight at the ass end makes the bait stand on its ass...that's how a craw sits when a bass is about to eat it. hope this helps!
YEAH IVE SEEN THAT RIG A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT IT SEEM KIND OF IF THE HOOK UPS WOURENT BE AS GREAT AS WITH A REGULAR PUNCH RIG CAUSE THAT HOOK SEEMS LIKE ITS IN AN AQUARD POSITION
@MIGUELCARDOSO818 This rig has no problem getting hook ups. Read my response to Bassfanatic94. If you want a rig that can get into areas like no other and catch fish this is it. I'm not sponsored by any of these companies its just one of those tactics that a lot of guys don't know about yet.
@j0j0barz33 The temp is around 50 to 60 degrees and the only reason i really fish lakes is when we go trolling or cat fishing i mainly fish for bass when i go pond hopping lol.
@co1binat3r Ive used the Tro-kar swim bait hooks, and they are super sharp, also have the screw lock design on the front, nothing special, cause most swim bait hooks have these now, only thing is i have not seen any Weighted tro-kar hooks, but that was last year when they first came out, they may have ones now w/ a belly weight for throwing those soft body swim baits
hey man! :) love the viedos, i gotta ask you a question. i aint poor or anything but i cant afford any high quality reels.could u tell me about a fairly cheap reel that works good with braid? and also could you tell me where i could get some bulk braid?thanks man!!!
Nice video Jon! Did you get a this tip from the most recent B.A.S.S. magazine because it is in there. The "Revere Texas Rig" is great like you said. The only problem that I could see about it is the weight coming off on a hard hook set especially when the plastic is soft. Thanks for sharing!
@Bassfanatic94 No just JDM vids, and a fish has the bait but not the weight with a reg rig you'll have to pull that weight up when you hook set, but the weight is already in the fishes mouth with this one
I went to subscribe but there was nothing to subscribe to. 2 videos, one technically not a video, and the other had to boys talking over each other one diping and spiting (NASTY) and even if you didn't talk over each other I still couldn't hear you. i would never spend the money to buy trokar hooks. Gamakatsu makes all of the hooks I need and they stay sharp for a looong time.
