I couldn't agree more: this is the genuine article, the heart and soul of rockabilly rock 'n rock. Both of these guys are living legends, institutions all on their own. They've been cranking this stuff out for 40 years, it hasn't slowed down a beat. Leon Russell wrote a song for Eric Clapton, "Blues Power": fantastic number, but you never hear it on the radio. Leon's done great stuff with Willie Nelson--so satisfying to the soul!

@dsm811 Oh, I've been to most of them. In my youth, I had the honor of being at Cobo for the recording of both J. Geils "Full House" and Bob Seger's "Live Bullet." Also Ted Nugent's "Whiplash Bash" was a New Year's Eve must see. As the years went by and the bands I favored played in smaller and smaller venues, I followed them. Harpo's, Royal Oak, etc. My comment was only referring to the immense amount of happy Tulsa is gonna experience the night their hometown hero is inducted.

@dsm811 I don't want to give the wrong impression, because I was born, raised and lived in Detroit for all of my 54 years. I grew up on Motown, rock, blues and jazz. I know first hand the fantastic music that Detroit produces. But, like old time Motown music, Tulsa has a sound and feel that is truly it's own and like Motown it can't be duplicated. You have to go to the source to completely experience the joy.
