  • So now you do admit there is consensus. Fine. Well, seeing as you don't back up any of your claims with any reference to real data, which the onus is certainly on you to do since almost every climate scientist in the world says the opposite is happening, I'll let the readers judge for themselves whether what you've said is likely to be true.

  • Are you lot against burning ? Do you not know that your body burnings carbon constantly everday to live? We have been burning fossil fuels since the industrial revolution just over 150 years producing co2. Volcanoes have been producing co2 for 100s of millenium.

  • @david222444 Yes, david 222444, that's true, but what matters is the sheer quantity we have been burning since the Industrial Revolution, and Industrialisation is now clearly the greatest threat to our ecosystem. The US Geological Survey reports that we produce 130 times as much carbon as volcanoes do. Our emissions are spiralling out of control, and are set very soon to push the planet into a feedback warming cycle which will cause desertification and probable famine and strife for millions.

  • @pcoldham Do you have any sense of perspective? Co2 makes up only 0.038% of our atmosphere and humanity only contibutes 4% of 0.038%. Now understand that we are a carbon based life form and that carbon is essential to all life on our Planet. The Planet is now cooling abruptly and deeply as the Pacific cools and the Gulf stream weakens due to the onset of a new Grand Solar Minimum. Under these circumstances atmospheric co2 enrichment wouls be prudent.

  • @david222444 Despite what you say, the planet is not by any means cooling -- global temperatures demonstrably continue to rise year on year. Where have you got this data? And what explanation do you have for the overwhelming consensus of climate scientists around the world that man-made global warming is real?

  • @pcoldham There is no overwhelming concensus and even if there were a concensus only politicians would bother not scientists, to a scientist a concensus is a mere challenge. Every level of the atmosphere is cooling, the Pacific is cooling, the Sun is becoming less active, the Gulf stream is weakening, volcanic and techtonic activity has increased six fold on last year. You must keep up and stop dwelling on the past.

  • @david222444 Once again, you make all these assertions without any references. No scientific body of national or international standing has maintained dissent from climate change.

  • @pcoldham Do you not find that odd? Science is not about dissent from concensus, it is about theory and proof of the theory. Concensus is a mere challenge. Meanwhile back in the present reality ,our Planet cools abruptly. I will not engage you in an et al game of tennis thanks, go look for yourself and anyone else reading this just go look at the present not past data. Yet another severe winter is about to hit the Northern Hemisphere.

  • @ray25620 Whats colour got to do with it? I know of dozens of ethnic groups that are active and petition.... oh shit guess what? I'm brown!

  • Why do you only ever see white people at these sorts of events? Because only white people care about these issues. It's the same with human rights, women's rights, child labour, sex slavery, save the whales, save the coral reef, gay rights, etc etc etc, only white people give a shit. And when the Leftards get their wish and whites are powerless minorities in every country in the world then all these causes will go to hell.

  • Seriously I've goþ to be done with this. When you kids get a real job support yourselves and can do thins on your own with out your govm's help then you can talk about them don't bit the hand that feeds you

  • i was their for the whole week, it was awsome and you did stuff for earth!!!

  • You don't know HOT come to Phoenix in August and September! Go see my tribute video to "our" billie bullies. Coal pits in your backyard isn't right must be stopped I totally agree.

  • I began reading Mr Mobiots book "Heat", after the introduction and just 3 pages in he begins to explain the "science" behind "GHG´s" and the atmosphere. Already by the 5th line in he makes an enormous mistake by claiming "CO2 and Methane are the two main GHG´s".

Water vapour is by far the largest and then a very far down on the list 2nd is CO2.

As I preceded to read it became mistake after mistake after mistake.

  • I don't know who you are but either you have an agenda against climate action (and general intelligence) or you are incredibly stupid but maybe both.

  • Fuck off!

If you are saying that Heat is a scientifically valid book then you are the one who is stupid.

  • Every list I've ever seen has water vapour followed immediately by CO2 and methane. The latter two are certainly the main ones exacerbated by humanity. I'm not aware of any credible dispute to this fact. Also the word "proceeded", meaning to go forth or continue, is spelt as I just did and not as you did, Mr Science Genius. If you had "preceded" to read the book, besides being ungrammatical, that could only mean you had written the preface, which I find unlikely. ;-)

  • you people sit on your computers that are probibly ran by power produced by the same coal mines you fight againts and cause people to lose more money in one day than your whole missarable life is worth and call use stupid the ones who give you the power your useing. Whose the fucking dumbasses now. But its ok just go back upstairs from your parents bassements and tell your momies im sure they will fix you a cup of hot tea and pat you on the back youll feel better.

  • @MrHighrisk99

Just to let you know, I am 53 years old. I have 3 grandchildren and I am terrified by the climate chaos that is upon us. Just watch the news,Russia, Pakistan, BP Oil Spill.I'm afraid your views are out of date- people are losing more than money right now.Keep an eye on the cost of petrol, or bread or many other things. Then please join the dots up.

    In peace

  • George Monbiots has a clue about climate change. It's just a fundementalist religion and nothing absolutely nothing is allowed to count against it.

  • you should have come over and verify it yourself, ;-)

  • Lots ofpeople had jobs..i am a teacher and i met all sorts of people..dont belive the mainstream media. Climatecamp was great.

  • Why would you think Goerge was the only one with a job there? Are people who dont enjoy the bad effects of man made pollution generally out of work? What makes you think this?

  • Are people with jobs the only one to talk?

Says who? If anyone in particular, its probably someone that have something to gain from such.
