@NDayatida this verse is Qouted from a book called the Quran, it has no versions, we only got one Quran recited by all the muslims alike, arabs and non arabs, it is believed to be the Ultimate word of Allah (Swt) and in this book Allah Adresses the whole of humanity, not just muslims, as you will find that Allah says in many places "O Mankind!" and many challanges and warnings to the non-believers, and as i said that verse i qouted from the Quran (Surah 25:63) u might want to check it as well

@Sortsitar It's so easy to doubt or misunderstand these aspects of Islam, but I think it's proper to say that when one has already assured and has no doubt in the fact that God exists, and that Allah is the only God, then everything that comes after that is what Allah commanded. So we should do it because He knows best. But Allah knows we're intellectual so he gave us proof in the Quran and reason. He continently asks us to think and ponder. And don't interpret Islam through cultural lens.

And it's up to men to man up and claim responsibility for any of his women in his family or in the community. of course, say, my husband is responsible for my behaviour in some points, like if I didn't pray or i abandoned God, it's his responsibility to remind me of God and not to abandon him. You might want to compare the translations, their is no consensus regarding that verse. Therefore one cannot take a jurisprudence decision from such horrid translations.

And it is well documented that in Islamic law run courts, a mans word is worth more than that of a woman. These are in no way opinions but rather, well known , verifiable facts. @Sortsitar It's so easy to doubt or misunderstand these aspects of Islam, but I think it's proper to say that when one has already assured and has no doubt in the fact that God exists, and that Allah is the only God, then everything that comes after that is what Allah commanded. So we should do it because He knows best. But Allah knows we're intellectual so he gave us proof in the Quran and reason. He continently asks us to think and ponder. And don't interpret Islam through cultural lens.

And it's up to men to man up and claim responsibility for any of his women in his family or in the community. of course, say, my husband is responsible for my behaviour in some points, like if I didn't pray or i abandoned God, it's his responsibility to remind me of God and not to abandon him. The statement that men are a degree above women means that authority within the household has been give to the husband in preference to the wife because a heavier burden has been placed on his shoulders by another verse of the Quran which says: Men shall take full care of women, because Allah has given the one more strength than the other, and because they support them from their means. Having four wives is not obligatory. It's onés own choice provided that he does justice to all of his wives. And if at any time a woman is not wanting to continue with his married life, she can always seek divorce normally known as khulla in islam.
And men are never called the rulers over women in islam. They are equal with the man normally responsible for providing financial assistance to his wife to carry out household jobs.

Problem is culture not religion. Just look at the world's most populous Muslim nation, Indonesia. Actually it is not just my opinion, it is the absolute truth. The Iranian court handed down the verdict on the acid case just two weeks ago. And it is well documented that in Islamic law run courts, a mans word is worth more than that of a woman. These are in no way opinions but rather, well known , verifiable facts. Do you really expect me to believe that you are a stranger to the concept,in islam,that a womans worth is only half that of a man. Her word is worth less in court, she can only inherit half as much,etc. If so ,you only need to keep browsing through youtube for many examples. 2- If it was her father who died her elder brother will be responsable for her if her if her mother died it is her fathers duty to take care of her till she dies or gets married . If she got married it is her husband responsability to take care of her in all this sitution no one has the right in islamic rules to touch her littl half .
