My Sister in Law had FOP. Dr Jacobs in Oregon, made all he difference with his DMSO/MSM treatments. When she would get hurt while it was active, they would apply topically and it would help fight the bone growth from the injury. He is so young! God Bless.

One of my friends has a buddy with a condition like this - I never got to meet him but I wanted to - his condition causes his body to grow bones where bruises have formed. Get hit, get a bone o.O The guy is in a wheelchair now :( But continues to live his life at 24 studying game design :)

I am also becoming a doctor, not for the money, but because I really want to work with kids like this. I just don't want you to lose hope when you figure out you can't do both. and PS. Out of all the physical conditions I've ever heard of, this has to be the worst and the one I'd least like to have. It's truly encouraging to see that even people who are unfortunate enough to suffer with it can lead a relatively normal and happy life. Puts my petty physical complaints in perspective.
