xavi's a fantastic playmaker but not as complete as gerrard though. For example Gerrard could do Xavi's playmaking job at barca, but Xavi couldn't be the one man team (two man now with torres) that keeps liverpool as a top team

Gerrard is incapable of keeping possession reliably.

He is amazing at other things, but cannot run a game.
