I'm know Wonder Woman at full strength can't beat Darkseid. Superman's shown that he can so he's stronger than her. Though Wonder Woman didn't have the power of the lasso in this episode so she couldn't use it. I'm not sure it would have made that much of a difference against Mongul. I mean have access to a rope isn't enough to make a difference from the ass whoopin she took without it.
This was a perfect example of Bronze-Age Mongul where he was an even match for Superman (possibly even stronger). This episode played out more or less like it did in the comics except Robin's not in it and I don't think it made mention of Jor-El being a radical after his failed doomsday prediction.

WW I think is just a tad bit weaker then Supergirl. But WW is the closet thing to a female Superman with her skill as a fighter and strength you would have to be on scale with Superman to be able to defeat her. However I think they could have made her hold her own alittle bit better against him

Wonder Woman IS powerful. Superman at his full power, however, is pretty much a notch or two above even her.

it's kinda a screw up because in the episode Paradise lost, Wonder woman is able to somewhat seriously injure superman. although to some extent, he realized during the fight who she was and refused to fight back. but still, if she can't hurt mongul, but Superman can, then Theoretically, she shouldn't have been able to inflict that much damage on superman

the main reason superman is that tough to beat ( kryptonite and magic excluded ) is because he is casi-invulnerable to all kind of physical damage, and if he happenned to get hurt by a most powerfull fiend ( mongul, doomsday, darkseid ) he heals almost instantly, i would say he regeneration and invulnerability play more important role in superman power than his strenght.
well wonderwoman hurt her hands punching mongul in the face, but later in this fight superman punches mongul and he basically deforme monguls face without hurting his knuckes at all. its common sense to say that superman is clearly a lot stronger and more resistant than wonder woman. @yaoryu There's been two Monguls in comics. Mongul Lord of War World or Mongul Sr. for short, whom was a Pre Crisis Character one one of the only two beings who beat Pre Crisis Superman in a fight.
Mongul the Lesser or Mongul Jr. isn't as powerful as his father. That's the one Diana beat. The episode here is based on a Pre Crisis story with Mongul Sr. in it.

@yaoryu Captain Atom, Captain Marvel, Orion, Big Barda, Martian Manhunter, Superman(he has plenty of jobbing feats in the DCAU), Diana, Maxima(Who was severely weakened), & Lobo were weakened as well. I think it's cause Bruce Timm is a fine example of a great Batman writer/producer but a sub-par/below average guy for anyone else in the DCU.
To be fair though Diana nearly killed Mongul Jr, but was stopped by Bats/Supes. However Mongul Sr did beat Diana cause he was in fact stronger.
I believe WW should be the powerful female because she said that the amazons gain their strength from being pure women. with no interference from men. that should make WW the best female and because of her armour. Her mother gave her full access to her armor on season 3 of Justice League. Supergirl is a female. She never said her mind and soul is pure woman. Which puts her below WW. She can't harness the female's full potential. WW did. Why she's the only female who can face Superman.
@babyface2k Except Supergirl, Big Barda, Power Girl, & Maxima have shown to be on equal if not better terms of strength than Diana as well. Diana's the most powerful overall(save for Maxima who's has a multitude of powers.) but both Supergirl, who's very close to her if not already physically stronger, & Power Girl who Diana admits is Physically stronger.
Big Barda might have the edge skill/strength but Diana has speed & flight. There's plenty of strong female heroes in DC.

Wonder Woman is as powerful as whomever is writing her wants her t o be. Personally, I like her when she's on par with Supes. I mean, he's only an alien for crying out loud. There are lots of those. She was created to be a superior fighting machine and imbued with life by gods.
@NevTheDeranged The thing is no God would ever make someone on par with their natural abilities, they might give them power but it'll never be on par with their own. So Supes or J'onn being more powerful than her isn't a stretch from a standpoint.
But in all honestly, DC & Marvel Superheroes abilities are at best vague and changed so often by different writers it's difficult to gauge their limits. Hell, Pheonix died from an emp move by Magneto before.
Normally I try not to look too into these things, but Wonder Woman needed Superman to save her, and then was relegated to fighting the tentacle monster.

@amob14 - the same could be said for her, please not that when she slit his throat she wasn't wearing the Hephaestian armor, the Gauntlet of Atlas or the various other tricks and trinkets she's picked up. Martian Manhunter aside Wonder Woman is as tough as superman, better trained and the superhuman most capable of taking Superman down if she had to.

@GeekinIreland I feel bad for Wondy, but I see why Clark wants Bruce to do him in iffin he ever goes rogue. It's the bromance thing. I agree that Wondy and MM and even Aquaman are equal to Supes, hell MM is supposed to be stronger than supes I thought, and he's got all those powers. But Superman is the man- not to mention he's the epitome of what it means to be a hero.

@yaoryu There's been two Monguls in comics. Mongul Lord of War World or Mongul Sr. for short, whom was a Pre Crisis Character one one of the only two beings who beat Pre Crisis Superman in a fight.
Mongul the Lesser or Mongul Jr. isn't as powerful as his father. That's the one Diana beat. The episode here is based on a Pre Crisis story with Mongul Sr. in it.

@TheBadApple2008 Thanks 4 clearing that up. My point is that WW in this animated series was portrayed as somewhat not even half as strong/powerful as the real WW in the comic. It also pissed me off that Batman can simply beat Kalibak in this series!

@yaoryu Captain Atom, Captain Marvel, Orion, Big Barda, Martian Manhunter, Superman(he has plenty of jobbing feats in the DCAU), Diana, Maxima(Who was severely weakened), & Lobo were weakened as well. I think it's cause Bruce Timm is a fine example of a great Batman writer/producer but a sub-par/below average guy for anyone else in the DCU.
To be fair though Diana nearly killed Mongul Jr, but was stopped by Bats/Supes. However Mongul Sr did beat Diana cause he was in fact stronger.

I believe WW should be the powerful female because she said that the amazons gain their strength from being pure women. with no interference from men. that should make WW the best female and because of her armour. Her mother gave her full access to her armor on season 3 of Justice League. Supergirl is a female. She never said her mind and soul is pure woman. Which puts her below WW. She can't harness the female's full potential. WW did. Why she's the only female who can face Superman.

@babyface2k Except Supergirl, Big Barda, Power Girl, & Maxima have shown to be on equal if not better terms of strength than Diana as well. Diana's the most powerful overall(save for Maxima who's has a multitude of powers.) but both Supergirl, who's very close to her if not already physically stronger, & Power Girl who Diana admits is Physically stronger.
Big Barda might have the edge skill/strength but Diana has speed & flight. There's plenty of strong female heroes in DC.

@yaoryu Beating them doesn't make her the strongest when she herself stated those two are near her or are already stronger than her. She's just the better fighter out of them, that's the difference. Diana's one of the strongest heroes, no doubt about that. She's easily in the top 5 best hand to hand fighters in the Top Tier hero class though. Depends on where you would rank, Orion, Captain Atom, Maxima, Big Barda, etc.
But pound per pound, Supergirl & Power Girl do out-muscle her.

Wonder Woman is as powerful as whomever is writing her wants her t o be. Personally, I like her when she's on par with Supes. I mean, he's only an alien for crying out loud. There are lots of those. She was created to be a superior fighting machine and imbued with life by gods.

@NevTheDeranged The thing is no God would ever make someone on par with their natural abilities, they might give them power but it'll never be on par with their own. So Supes or J'onn being more powerful than her isn't a stretch from a standpoint.
But in all honestly, DC & Marvel Superheroes abilities are at best vague and changed so often by different writers it's difficult to gauge their limits. Hell, Pheonix died from an emp move by Magneto before.
