  • Better make Duke Nukem 5 a huge improvement.

  • scott miller looks like the G-Man

  • should have made it like HL 2

  • I liked the 2001 version. I'd really love to play what was finished both with the Quake 2 engine and the Unreal engine. When I first saw the 2001 video I was so excited!!! I wan't to play that game more than the actual DNF! Please make it happen, release the beta versions of the early games somehow!

  • These documentary-snippets must be making Duke proud, they are taking almost as long to come out as the game itself!

  • imagine if duke nukem did released on time in 1997 duke nukem will be in the top of the gaming world

  • The game plays like the awkward retarded offspring of Half Life and CoD. I've never been so disappointed before. I didn't come into it expecting the greatest game ever, I just wanted it to be a Duke game and it failed miserably in that aspect. After 14 years people expected a bit more than just CoD with physics puzzles and dick jokes. Duke is dead :(

  • @cbuma I fcking agree with you, why they did this to Duke :( ?

  • @cbuma it is a duke game. The character Duke nukem hasn't changed one bit. Hes still the same cigar smoking, boobie slapping, asshole that we all knew him to be. We all just grew up. We moved on, and got to know better characters to love. The time between Duke nukem 3d and Duke nukem forever, the whole world grew up and out of the "90's" . I think duke is just beginning. Gearbox owns him now and maybe they can make him grow up. The multiplayer is classic chaotic fun, but thats all thats fun

  • Just be sure to bring us a fifth Duke game and learn from the issues on Forever. I love Forever but I want more Duke!

  • How many parts/installments will there be for this documentary?

  • @antdude one more, four parts all together

  • @lynbotgmail Thanks. :)

  • @antdude Sure thing

  • Comment removed

  • @lynbotgmail ???

  • @antdude What???

  • They should release all versions. 1997, 2001, 200X. I want to see how it has changed over time.

  • reviews of videogames are like assholes, everyone has one

  • You said it, MuzixMon2

  • I bought it, I played it and I don't really care for it. However, I am still impressed with the 2001 DNF Trailer and would be willing to pay good money for THAT game. That game looks so much more epic than the "meh" game that was released.

  • @MuzixMon2 I think it might have beaten Half-Life/Half-Life 2 if it would have been released around that time. Luckily that didn't happen and now we have Portal 2. :P lol jk

  • yeah its funny how many people say its crap and havent even played it, just read a review and called it fact. I have the game for the PC, and it is fun and slightly challenging, not compared to todays game, but it is a good game. Cant comment on console, FPS on PCm but I think all negative reviews were from console reveiws

  • Duke Nukem Forever is what every game should be like. Everyone that says the sidebar antics take too much away from the FPS portion of the game should go back to CoD. This game is amazing, and so many of us have been waiting around faithfully for it. I don't think there's a REAL fan of Duke that is disappointed with what they got. I certainly wasn't

  • Dlook Nookum - me like...MI LYKE!

  • people don't understand that DNF is made to be a purely fun game to stir up laughs. its not a Call of Duty game you goddamn critics

  • Man, Duke Nukem Forever was a blast! Loved it! I hope you guys can make a new Duke that doesn't take 15 more years to come out,

  • The game is so 2004 BUT MAN ITS FUN!!! Cant wait for Duke Nukem Five Alive!!! :D

  • Wow. Yea, there was a simple problem, the game was a pile of uncompleted parts and gearbox couldn't save it, so please, Randy, stop pretending and make Borderlands 2 to get at least some of your reputation back. This game sold like crazy, so the money should be there.

  • SCOTT MILLER is such an fucking asshole, deciding to change 2 times the 3D engine is a FUCKING SHITTY IDEA !!!! We could have 3 duke nukem forever at the time. FUCK YOU SCOTT MILLER !!!

  • DNF was a decent sequel to DN3D.

The Humor was immature as fuck, the graphics and level designs were decent, and the enemies were fun to kill too.

There were only three things that pissed me off, while playing the game:

    - The Multiplayer was crap as there are almost never dedicated servers online, and if they're online you still see the Listen servers at first on the Serverlist.

    - The two weapon limit : Come on do you really think gamers are this dumb these days ?

    - IT WAS TOO FUCKIN SHORT

  • @Th3L31ch3 can't we look at the positives:

    -Bigger levels

    -A few new weapons

    -More dialouge

It truly has advanced and it's just as good as DN3D

  • @charliebrown293

The immature humor IS a positive thing.

  • @Th3L31ch3 obviously, but I was just giving a few examples and I forgot to mention: -use of vehicles and turrets

  • @charliebrown293

The game was still too short :P!

  • @Th3L31ch3 Never speak to soon, there could be add-ons coming soon

  • @charliebrown293 You'll have to pay for those DLC's. I won't do that.

  • @Th3L31ch3 so,it'll be worth it

  • LMAO - Kristen Haglund BALLS: 80+

    8:18 !

  • DNF is just a Halo mod as far as gameplay goes. Dumb ass regen health/armor, weapon limit, linear as hell, and Duke this time around feels like a washed up has been. He doesn't feel like the badass he used to. Duke is a giant pussy in DNF, sadly.

  • the weapon limit is what ruined duke nukem forever for me, it was fun having like 10 weapons to make chaos in 3d :c

  • duke is a badass...for the next game lose the 2 weapon limit gearbox

  • @igotyou62 actually, I think that tip should be sent to most other developers this day and age. Needless to say, I agree with ya

  • no more unreal engine plz >.>

  • I'm sorry to say this console games but if only Gearbox didn't make the console ports the Reviewers would have been bashing this game so hard lets face it the console ports were rushed and the gaming media just took hold of that flaw and tore the game to pieces without even looking at the platform it was meant for. I'm not saying they should have made the ports but they could have at least delayed the console versions to get all of the bugs out. anyway I think you guys did a good job keep it up!

  • love Duke Forever :D its easy and stuff hopefully there will be more Duke Nukem games

  • I purposefully didn't preorder this game.

I'm not gonna preorder a game that's been in development since games were all on a different tier of quality.

I'm gonna wait until it costs more.

    Cheers, Duke team!

  • i fucking love this game; i dont care about the reviews. multiplayer is just like quake 3 arena, single player is fun and funny, and shtuff yeah bla bloop

  • Awesome job Gearbox. EPIC WIN. Good job at keeping 3D Realms vision the way it was, instead of messing it up. I love DNF! Cannot wait for another Duke Game to come out. Just please don't make us wait another 14 years! :D

  • I have yet to finish the game but I really have enjoyed it. I think this a really underrated game and people who are dissapointed should just be dissapointed in themeselves. What this game has taught me is that you really don't appreciate something until its gone, since this game was announced I thought back at when I used to play DN3D as a kid and never got to finish it. So,I took the time to finish it and saw how games should really be. Thanks gearbox. Hail to king,Baby!

  • make another one it was epic

  • Props to Gearbox for stepping up to the plate and finally releasing the game.

  • this game was too hyped up so the end product could never match that game

  • Awesome glad you guys got the game out. I loved it.

  • loved the game too bad it was so short though :/

  • Now that Duke is in the hands of a developer with more competent management, maybe we will see more Duke games on a reasonable release cycle?

  • Speaking as someone who never played a Duke game before, I was pretty disappointed--while just about everything was innovative when it was being first developed, the only thing that really stood out anymore was the massive amount of interactivity. Terrible "pushing" physics, character models that were disturbingly un-lifelike, and set pieces that looked like unfinished products.

  • now let's bring back Shadow Warrior... ;o)

  • I wonder how many of these guys killed themselves because of faggots like IGN.

  • I'm not pleased with the result. I expected something else completely. I'm not trolling, I'm still a big fan of duke, and I hope they do more duke games.

  • kristen haglund has 80+ balls?

  • I enjoyed duke nukem forever. But I gotta say the 2001 looks a lot better

  • I bought this game yesterday and finished it 2day. Was really great fun and everything but the only downside was that in those year my expectations grew so high that no company cold'a filled 'em. Until I realized that the game felt like it wasn't so good that it should been( Which was not the case)

Anyways are you planning to make another duke nukem in years coming or selling the franchise?

  • Why with all the praise? This is particularly one of the biggest fails in gaming history! No other game should be in production for 14 years! They should expose their mistakes to serve as a bad example. This is the only good side that I can see.

  • @tubeother Instead of bitching maybe start realising what a mircale it is this game even came out after so many years. Other companies would've just dropped it. Just goes to show we can always bet on Duke.

  • @dnomz If it is positive to a mainstream game JUST to come out, there is something completely wrong about it.

  • game turned out to be bullshit. Gearbox sure sucks

  • @bloodsuckern Gearbox didn't make the game, they just polished it as much as they can, and tried to the game out as soon as they could. 3D Realms made 90% of this game and Gearbox did the other 10%

  • It would've been AMAZING to play a demo of each build.

  • Duke Nukem Forever = FUN.

...forgive me if I'm wrong Trolls...but is this not the purpose of a "game"? lol wow

  • hey its not flagged yet :D

  • Hi gunnar

  • GameInformer's review is exactly how I felt about this game. They essentially said it was good, but development took a turn for the worse somewhere during those 15 years, and that although this game helps to return The Duke to the gaming industry, they hope the next installment in his adventures will live up to what The Duke can achieve, rather than bottleneck it like DNF did.

  • Lol i remember that trailer from 2001 xD

  • There's a lot of trolls here... This game turned out FUN.

  • @Protoman85

I know.. im a huge Duke fan, and think that the new duke was fun to play, althought theres little flawes, but still it was fun to play

  • @Protoman85 People just dont like to think while playing games anymore. they just want CoD clones

  • @Protoman85 Not really. As old as Duke3D is now, I go back and still play it to this day and have just as much fun now as I did back in the 90s. Not only that, Duke3D is 100000000x more fun than DNF, which is just more annoying than anything.

  • how can you say duke nukem turned out bad? what did you expect exactly?

it has a good campaign and a good multi player( could have better servers)

  • @brickster6566 Then again what people like is subjective. People may not like the game, but they're wrong so it's all good.

  • @brickster6566 I agree with that. Also the multiplayer matchmaking is useless. But once you find a good server, it's really fun.

  • BEHOLD

THE PEOPLE THAT KILLED THE DUKE

  • Honestly, I'm not even expecting a good sequel to come, with how DNF turned out. Even if the next game will take only 2-4 years to develop, I still don't see a good sequel coming up, but we would have to see

  • I loved the game, and I grew up with Duke Nukem 3D. I doubt the developers give a fuck about the mediocre score, since it has topped the sale charts all over the place. Always bet on Duke!

  • I'm just hoping for there to be another one!

  • @ElementJ09 There is already a Duke Nukem 3D reboot in the works on the unreal 3 engine.

  • @ElementJ09 It'll 13 more years :3

  • @ElementJ09 They're will be. Gearbox/Take 2 won't rest.

  • @ElementJ09 in 30 years...

  • Too bad this "Legendary game" ended up being a disappointment and became yet another generic shooter. People waited 14 years for this game and they got a generic shooter for a sequel that is sub-par. How disappointing.

  • @TheScarletwingShade If you bought Duke Nukem Forever expecting something that would revolutionize the genre, then you would be buying it for all the wrong reasons.

  • @TheScarletwingShade

Funny, I haven't seen a copy of DNF returned to my shop yet, or traded at any of the others. It wasn't trying to be revolutionary in any way, it was supposed to be a fun and satisfying game. And judging by the sales, and my experiences playing it in the last week, not many people are disappointed. The king is back baby! And we're happy to have him!

  • Sad that in the end DNF didn't have the best things of both 1997 and 2001 DNF versions...well hopefully Gearbox will manage to do something cool with it, instead of what 3D realms did :|

  • befor 3001 clue ftw

  • in the end we got Call of Duken

  • I wish that this game didn't fail as hard as it did.

  • YAY!!!

  • duke nukem Fiver?

  • @gtsaf0 duke nukem fever aaaaaaaaah
