Umbilical Cord and Placenta and joys of being a father

cutting causes brain damage ....Truth is, you are NOT supposed to cut the umbilical cord .... Its a travesty against the child to do so for it seperates them from 1/3rd of the blood intended for them .... the placenta will be delivered about half an hour after the baby's body and then the placenta will shrink for the next 3 days as the baby receives the vital stem cell blood that finishes building its immune system. Then on about the 3rd day, the umbilical will fall away naturally ...... ( + )

Thanks Kath nobody really talks about it on the net. There are loads of books on pregnancy, but not many for Fathers. People just expect Fathers to get on with it and yet they go through problems as well such as adjusting to the mood swings and also being felt left out.

they didnt give my sister an injection,they just pulled the placenta out

this is what happens,as soon as the babys born its put on the mothers chest 2 bond,,mean while they pull the placenta out,then while mothers still holdin baby.they put 2 small claps on the cord near the babys button leavin a small space in which 2 cut the cord,its like cutting throw cardboard ,the blood doesnt splatter
