@jowyfantasy That's where you're wrong. Only Sony's Entry-Level DSLR's (the a200 and 300 series) don't offer video. Anything higher than that from Sony (a500 to a900 series) will offer full 1080p HD video, and in the case of the a33 and a55, with full continuous auto-focus while shooting video, something I do not believe either Canon or Nikon has yet.

Buy the a330 it has the live view system. The a3000 does not have this.... both are about the same weight.... the a330's hand grip is a little small.... need to check into the feel and functions of both cameras before you buy.... Sony and Nikon both make great cameras. The a330 would make a great first DSLR camera for most people..... hope this helped

oh...I have and I really like it!!...I still don't know how to use evrything on it, but it is allready perfect!...pictures are clean and I really like macro mode! All of my friends that allready have cameras saied that this one is the best. OK...it is beter to buy d90, d300, d700...but those are expensive. But this camera is really got for this low price. It also had HD video recording and it is reali HD!! hehe....but it is hard to use sometimes cuz it doesn't have AutoFocus. :/

Zoom is gr8, but still I hope that one day I will buy my self lense with better zoom and one macro lense :D...I like to shoot macro photos.

and..yeah...d5000 have alot of effects...like fisheye and so. when you shoot some photos you can modify them allready with d5000. And this is what I like. you can cut them, fisheye effect, color effects, color outline, etc.

I've done some research on the web and the standard tv cable is called component cable. is this important ? YES, beacouse i found a lot of hdmi to component cables on the net . that means you can connect your camera on a standard tv using the hdmi output.

@Echofromsomewere1 You have to be a bit careful here. Yes you can buy HDMI to component cables, BUT they only work if the HDMI socket is also outputting an analogue signal - and most HDMI sockets, including this one, only output a digital signal. So these cables won't work. PS - as for a standard TV cable, composite is much more common than component.

the nikon d3000 is a great camera thanx to the guide mode.

the a380 hasn't guide mode but it has an user friendly interface plus it has other options such as live view and tilt screen.

No you shouldn't.

If you really want to upgrade you want to go for a a700 or wait for the succesor of it.

The other Cams also the 4xx and 5xx Series aren't that much better yet. Also the 230,330,380 have no ISO100 any more.

@salehbadgail Live view is basically what it says....instead of looking through the view finder you look at the LCD display to take the picture. Much like most point and shoot cameras.
