On a serious note, I have one of these, and actually love the unusual form factor! And naturally I've disabled all the ATT apps that would /love/ to run in the background and slow me down.

My only caveats are the underpowered processor, lagged update schedule and the fact that right out of the box, non-market apps are blocked.

They can still be 'sideloaded' though, so it's not a total loss.

When is the Backflip getting upgraded to Android 2.1? It was promised when in the promotions for this product. Android 1.5 is losing app support in the Android Market. When some apps get updated, Android 1.5 is no longer supported.

@VP012868 This is because the battery is to small for the phone, just stick a peice of paper between the battery so it is tightly in place it will not restart on its own anymore..... =D

@St3hLy I did this and it continued to drop. ATT sent me a new battery and it still drops and I placed paper in the battery cavity also. ??? also the orig battery was really tight and I could barely get a piece of paper in it. replacement battery not as tight

@VP012868 well it's not really noticeable but when you can pull the battery just a tiny bit away to where it just loses connection.... you have to have the little peice of paper, hold it with the battery while you put it in... obviously put it on the side where the battery doesnt connect to the actually phone.... Mine hasn't restarted since I put something in between the battery.....

one issue: u have to keep ur txting inbox as close to empty as possible. it will freez up and be slow if u have more than 8 conversations loaded in ur inbox but other than that it doms! i got this almost 6 months ago and im still figuring things out on it. ive never seen a fone like it
