@garioldwin crime doesn't stop me from going to Rio. I got robbed there yes and I'm going to Rio next week again. Rio is one of those places you have to be to really feel what it's all about. I constantly felt my heart beating there by excitment, something you don't get by watching docu's on tv. It's the marvellous city!

@garioldwin How are you mate? Back from Rio and maaaannnnnnnn, the most electrifying 2 1/2 weeks in my life!!! Celebrated new years on Copacabana with an estimated 2,5 million people!! Even though actually being there it was hard to believe and so more for two weeks. One hell of a place yes......

If ur that sacared of Rio's crime, save a lot of money n go to Barra da tijuca and Recreio, the wealthiest part of Rio de Janiero, it's really calm becuz there are almost no favelas around, not alot of tourist either...just Patricinhos e filhos de papai ( daddys boy )

I went to the Rochina favela. Also the samba school there. I had no problems there - but Rio did seem dangerous to me.

Rocinha became a tourist point, the drug dealers are becoming business men and also allowing shows to be hosted there, when i was in brazil Ja rule was having a show at rocinha it was too late for me to get tickets =( i reaally wanted o go!
