If you know a little of electronics/electricity, you could modify it to use sealed 12v batteries (usually used for high-power flashlights and old VHS videocameras), instead of a bunch of C batteries.
The cool thing about sealed batteries is that they're rechargable, they can work well for years, and depending on how many current this amp uses, it can last for a really long time without recharging.
No BIG BUZZ wow yea we wouldent want that would we, I mean what if we had feedback at 5 friggin watts man/??? And the battery life? Yea lasts for ages and ages. from 1.5 watts to 5 watts they made sure ther is no frigging power to drain them batts. Oh and no frigging Bass eather to use them batteries up. So its all good, you can listen to this shit sound for frigging ever. Ore untill some poor soul says ,,, Turn that shit off you c,,,,,,,,t
@spartanworria you dont buy this amp for good sound why would you? there are obviously better on the market for the same price.... but it's very portable, you can easily put it in a backpack and take it everywhere you want, maybe to a friend, in the park, outside on your veranda, just to give you some options :) it can be used with batteries, so u dont need a socket outlet to play with it, thats IMO the reason to take it in consideration to buy it, it`s why i bought it. greetz mate
@MrJohnnyDistortion its possible to make this amp well-sounding, but its hard, although im sometimes surprised how i like his sound. there are otherones like fender frontman, the korg mikrocube and maybe even the marshall mg15r which may have a better sound... i would test amps and guitars before buying them, the ones i listed are worth a try and cost the same as the vox. lke i said, they arent as portable as the vox.
Excellent job on the review! I wish all gear reviews were done this well. Hey, nice playing too! Have you had a chance to compare this to the Roland Micro Cube? You mentioned it's not very loud, do you find the speaker distorts at all (at lower frequencies especially)? The Micro Cube tends to 'fart' at lower frequencies. Thanks!
This amp is great for playing the street and it does get pretty loud. I usually set it at .5 watt and it's loud enough for playing on the street. Instead of using C batteries I bought Ultra Last C shells and use AA rechargeable batteries and I get several hours at the .5 watt setting. I plug in a microphone and sing, and I have connected a CD player to it as well.
if you select something with much gain and select the phaser you can make a cool effect: when you hold the tap down and move the edit1 button full to the left.
and then play things on the low strings. that is cool you should try it!
what color is this? because the red amps dont have crome on them but your amp does and it looks red, is the light making it look red or something lol i just wanna know what color it is becasue i wanted a red one with crome on it lol
Ha. Yeah, it's red all right! Hm. Weird. I just checked and you're right! They might not make them like this anymore. :/ Sorry. Ew. I don't like the red one with the black guard.
Hm. Good question. I want to say no because the aux input doesn't modify the sound in the amp. It's just there to play along with a song. Sorry, I don't have an external effect I could try this with. If you're talking about a guitar pedal, then no because the guitar needs to pass through the pedal.
I finally found a good quality (non-hungarian) review showing exactly what this amp is like and what features are on it! Awesome review, great job man!
The open back part is for something called "Open Sound" it sounds just a bit different. Just a minor preference thing. Great amp, good review and keep on playing brajta
Awsome amp. My son and I use it for sidewalk buskin. Battery life is LONG. It's about $130US. Road worthy - can take a beating. Think twice on buying the Classic version. Looks great - but it doesn't have the protective metal grid. If you're not throwing it in the trunk of your car, the Classic is okay. Otherwise, get the black. Effects & amp presets are killer. Very versitile. If you can't find a sound that fits your style on this amp, you shoulda spent your money on guitar lessons.
The 3 high gains sound different. I only used high gain 1 in my video. In person, I'm sure you'll be able to tell the difference.
I recorded this through the mic in the camera. If you want to hear the distortion through the line in, check out the video where I play the Metal Gear Theme.
foxy boxy ;) but good for the money

tuber. anyway, its a great video review. i really need it.
one thing was about the Hi gain 1, 2 ,3 i dont really feel the difference of the distortions. was it more obvious if i were there?
did you record it over mic or the line out to ur pc?
thanks ! (i love ur power rangers riff)
