  • Hope the guys down the bottom are getting danger money to work under that massive crane! It's huge!

  • @TheFamilyguy421 ; there is no danger here, the risk of an accindent is far greater in traffic then on the job !

  • Cool video!! I like seeing different equipment at work doing ship trimming!!

  • Sweet Jesus! How big is that ship?

  • Nope, breathing gear is not used.

Before any of us have to enter a hold the are first messured for oxygen, and if the device says ok then whe go in.

  • does the guy in the wheel loader wear breathing gear?

  • It's kinda funny when you see the wheel loader and realize how freaking big the grab is :D

  • Yeah it`s big, it can hold 38m3 and weighs 20 tons, about the same as a truck.

  • @ThaLargeOne, yeah. The ones I've seen were a bit smaller, but then again so were the ships as well...

  • 60k-80k Mt in 4 or 5 x 8 hr shifts! (32-40hrs)

That's really slow. Immingham UK HinT 2 discharges 70k Mt vessels using Gottwald portal harbour cranes (i.e. slewing = less productive) in 27-29 hours!

  • Plans are made for a new crane 50 or 60 tons (and the old 30 tons crane will be wrecked) and it has a seperate conveyor belt so in theory this will cut discharge time in half.......... whe will be unloading those 70K MT in 15 to 20 hours !

By the way not a bad preformance at all for Gottwald crane`s.... got any video footage of this ??

  • The HintT terminals are due an upgrade too. The 3 mobile cranes on HintT 1 will be moving 'in dock', HintT 2 cranes and hoppers will be railed down to HintT 1 for use with new 50-60Mt light cargo grabs for new contracts of wood pellets and Biomass (olive cake). Although the hoppers will be used direct-to-road for any other cargo i.e. soya, maize, petroleum (green) coke, Ti Slag, Chrome ore, etc.

  • HinT 2 will be kitted out with 3 new gottwalds and 3 new hoppers, although specifications haven't been confirmed yet. It will be a dedicated coal terminal as always with the belts leading to two Voestalpine stacker/reclaimer's. I am in no way trying to fight the corner of slewing cranes as i know that a gantry will win hands down every time. I am a machine drver inside the ships hold, we work down the cargo with the crane using Volvo LC240C and then at the end with a L90F loading shovel

  • no,i don't like the obo ship...for now crude oil tanker about 180 m loa dwt cca 25000. transportation between portugal and russia...too much hot weather for now .-)

  • iron ore,is that right.we sipped it from santana-brazil to bahrain...very heavy cargo...now i will sail on tankers...no bulks allowed..hehe

  • this aint iron ore its coal, well good sailings skipper.....need to get yourself on an OBO boat (ore/bulk/oil) than you can transport all sorts.

  • nice video!!!

  • I cant raly recal howmuch cargo this vessel was holding.

Bulkcariers holding between 60.000 and 80.000 metric tons of coal are usaly unloaded in 4 or 5 eight hour shifts.

This crane has a free digging capacity between 2500 and 3000 tons per hour.

If whe discharge with this crane and a smaller crane whe discharge 3500 / 3600 tons per hour.

(the large crane is then set at 2500 tons)

  • on its way, vids too long have tu cut in in pieces, working night shift this week so verry little time.

  • NICE VID, WHERE IS PART ONE?
