this is going to sound dumb, but here are the questions. 1. how deep is it you have to dig for the 1940s era, and 2. can any land mine or unexploded device still go off, or have the years simply disabled the items?

@bettygoodbody yes back then they used better powders and rubber to seal land mines, but the chance of one going off is about 3 to 1. and even messing around with unexploded mortars or tank rounds can set them off. it depends if there was a trench but really most relics arent too far down,hell in germany i found an mp40 laying against a tree, 70 years and no one ever found it

We hebben bij ons op de bouwwerf een niet ontplofte bom gevonden ongeveer de grootte van een schoonmaat 44 zo :),de boel moest onmiddelijk ontruimd worden.Ik vind spullen van de wereldoorlog echt vet,je vind her en der wer winkels met hitler jugend messen maar 500 euro voor een mes is wel vrij veel :).

@BloodBrothersAirsoft Most of the battlefield relics we found aren’t interesting to historians. About 2 years ago I found a 200 year old copper plate, engraved with some symbols that was interesting to the local historians, so I gave it away. Now it is in their museum where it belongs!

@nelis555 Wij hebben gelukkig nog nooit botten gevonden. Mochten we dat wel doen dan lichten we de gravendienst in. Helemaal in Nl is dat geen probleem en mag je als het onderzoek afgelopen is de veldfles, gasmaskerbus, helm etc terug hebben. De persoonlijke dingen als ID plaatje, portefeuille en horloge gaan terug naar de familie en dat is prima.

Rogier, dat is natuurlijk vloeken in de kerk ;-) Het wordt steeds lastiger om leuke dingen te vinden steeds meer mensen doen aan deze mooie hobby. Wat je in dit filmpje komt bijna allemaal uit Polen en dat is veel uitproberen en geluk hebben, succes G
