your fading technique is perfect just you need to start delving into the area of eq a little more you only seem to really bother touching bass but there are a lot of creative ways of mixing utilizing the mid and treble and it will ultimately make your mixes sound more creative.

i never used to bother eq'ing but now im eq crazy lol
