quel orgue ...quelle chamade...ca me donne des frissons a chque fois que je l entends joué par nu grand maitre comme l a été par exemple Pierre Cochereau...
Very clever, the bass played with the left foot, the en chamde melody played with the right foot, and the continuo played with the hands. Great stuff if you have the instrument to do this and better still the ability to play this in the first place!
Plus these couplers and adjustable pedal split abilities are now common in most new modern organs. Depends if the church or concert venue pays for the luxury - for as its demonstrated it's quite useful - actually it proves to be a necessity!
Amazing. Note that he is playing double pedals when the cantus firmus appears. The left foot is playing the regular bass part while the right foot is playing the CF on reed stops. Can someone explain how this is possible with different registrations on each foot?
Simple yet brilliant use of the chamade. I reckon from what lil history I have read on French symphonic organs (mainly Cavaille-Coll) that this console has a clever adjustable coupler..and from what French organ terminology I know I can roughly translate this is the case. Visit notredamedeparis [.] fr /Composition-actuelle-depuis-1992,422 and you'll see under Accouplements, Coupure and Division Pédale :)
may I ask what resolution did you do with the video that we have th eoption of choosing a better quality video on this item? I started to concert my videos other way with RIVA flv converter, I would like to know what resolution and kbs s are the best to get similar output like yours. Thanks in advance.
Titanic. Especially when CF comes into right foot. Amazing

Good to hear him, especially knowing that on my mother's side, her mother's maiden name was the same as his.

@chamade216 It's actually an improvisation on the "Incense Psalm" 141 : Que ma prière devant Toi s'élève !"

Thanks for the info. I had no idea that split pedals were available on old organs (or even new ones) but I guess they put it in during renovations.

I was just curious as to where one can find these in the United States.

Its just wonderful how he becomes utterly immersed in the music, like he's merged with the instrument!!

i like lefebvre, his performance style seems more classical, which is a wonderful contrast to latry.

Notice how Mr. Lefebvre uses the divided pedal; the chamade is played by his right foot!
