  • my leg just started cramping up when i was sitting. it feels bad to sit and okay to stand..but i cant but pressure on it.. and also my feet are starting to feel that way.

    tips anyone! please asap

    She doesn't seem like an EMT, unless she has a specific reason for why she bypassed mentioning that you wrap it w/ even tension on both sides of the leg.

    It's important to do it that way if you don't want to create more pain at the injury site. Lots of beginning EMT-B's don't wrap it right and it causes more pain. I know, b/c i did it wrong the first time I tried.

    Other than that, everything else she said was right.

  • I have strained muscles or sprained ankle to know th RICE method. Use ice first when the swelling goes down then use heat

  • @SinComedy Not many people, but elevating the leg will do almost the same as ice.

    It reduces blood flow anyway.

    although - doesn't work for a strained shoulder ...

  • Sprained ankles = no fun. I've done it enough times to know.
