The title of this scene is wrong. Elizabeth isn't saying goodbye to Jack and the others. It's more like, until tomorrow or something of the like. Jack's a part of her life as Will is, so she can't part with him forever. He needs her if he's going to find the Fountain of Youth. Jack and Elizabeth aren't parting ways. They can't. They're pretty much family. Especially since I'd imagine Jack would be William III's godfather.

I agree 100%, because the movie makes it very clear that they don't love each other like that. First off, Jack states in DMC that his "first and ONLY love is the sea" so chances are he won't commit to any one woman anytime soon, let alone hook up with Elizabeth. Plus, there is more than enough evidence in all three movies that Willabeth is canon. So as much as I respect the Sparrabeth ship, it just wasn't meant to be.

Yeah what I meant was that they weren't going to end up together, although there were still plenty of Sparrabeth moments in the movies. I just get irritated when some JE shippers completely trash the canon for them to hook up.

Again, I'm glad Sparrabeth happened at some point, but they didn't get together and we all have to accept that.

I personally haven't come across any JE shippers that trash the canon, we know EW is canon, nobodys denying that, what gets to us is that people saying Sparrabeth isn't canon, they might not have ended up together but there still canon, the same for Norribeth too.

I have accepted (though I don't like it) they didn't get together.

Rest assured, there are more canon-trashing Sparrabeth fics than I'd care to think about. Most of the ones I've found have been on fanfiction . net or somesuch website. Anyways, I'm glad to find a Sparrabeth fan not in that category.

@daisyfairy I totally agree. In my opinion, Jack loved Elizabeth till the end of AWE, I thought it was pretty clear actually. Yeah, he is a goof but in DMC they made him be human. However, even if Liz had feelings for Jack, she ultimately loved Will and chose him, which is fine. But even if a person didn't like the J/E relationship, it happened.

i know potc well enough to know that the writers have stated that because elizabeth remained faithful to Will and met him after ten years, he is free. The reason Davy Jones was not free was because Calypso wasn't faithful to him.

I don't know where people get that the curse was broken, it clearly states in both DMC & AWE that the dutchman must have a captain, whoever stabs the heart will sail the Dutchman for ETERNITY.
