The parachute works because Mars' low gravity. This causes the atmosphere to stretch out into space further than a on higher gravity planet. It also means that the lander has much less force it has to counteract with a parachute. You don't know much of anything about physics and Ignorance is not proof.

The video is poor evidence, there have been super sonic high altitude parachutes since the 60s. Look at the evidence provided in the video and try to research it yourself, don't just believe everything you see so easily.

I am a skeptic about the Mars missions also from what NASA claims about Mars itself.

One example; Martian sky color:

Viking1 original pictures showed a blue sky, but NASA said that the camera filter was off, and they "corrected" it to a pink sky in later images. Then NASA had to keep going with the claim that the Martian sky is pink in color by "correcting" the camera filter on the Spirit lander to get the "pink sky" effect, after the first images showed a blue sky again!

Well, they take 3 images with 3 different color filters (red, green, blue) if you look at every composite image (combination of all three filter images) you'll see a lot of errors. Mars is not like Titan, which has a much thicker atmosphere than Earth (approx 1.5x BAR on Titan's surface). Therefore using a parachute there as in the Huygens probe was very possible, but on Mars? Lower pressure = less drag = unopened chute!

Jarrah, I believe that yesterday's Phoenix landing on Mars is genuine, and that the Mars Rovers may be genuine as well.

There is dust and gravel on the foot-pad of the Phoenix. This shows that the lack of dust on the Apollo LEMs' foot-pads is proof that Apollo was faked, as has been said all along.

NASA is still capable of faking things it can't achieve, so we should still be vigilant. And of course greedy contractors will still gorge themselves with over-charging and inflated invoices.

In both cases the engine is INSIDE of the legs and foot-pads. Any dust raised by the engine's descending blast would radiate outwards, vacuum or not. Dust would naturally settle on the foot-pads, as is seen with the Mars Phoenix.

But we don't see any dust on the foot-pads of the LEMs. The absent blast crater and footprints next to the LEMs show that there is plenty of dust around. Ergo, Apollo is phonus balonus.

Actually there are a few photos with dust on the Leg of the LM and soil disturbance can be seen. The LM put out 3000 lbs of thrust when landing on the moon, when calculated over the area of the engine nozzle it amounts to about 1.5 psi. The Harrier Jump Jet puts out over 23,000 lbs of thrust, 8 times the thrust of the LM upon landing. When the Harrier hovers, lands or takes off in a grass field or on dirt it does not make a blast crater..why? It can kick up dust but no blast crater.

Remember the A11 LM descent engine was allegedly still producing 2000lbs thrust directly out of a 4ft diameter nozzle on landing... yet we see deep bootprints in "powdery" surface material only six feet away from the engine bell.

Yet on DAC "descent footage" we see the dust being violently blasted radially far and wide.

I admit, it is within a possibility that Mars missions are faked, because they intend to fake the future manned missions (amazing those solar panels get cleaner at times!). That's what I fear, and therefore Apollo hoax must be proved or disproved.

A question. On Earth, when a jumper opens the parashoot, he is in free fall speed. But the probes to Mars had much greater speed, so due the high velocity the preassure would be greater against the parashoot. Is the preassure still not enough?
