  • Weird, same thing happens to me when a Friend notification appears on Steam (when a friends messages you, when a Friend joins a game etc)... the Hardware acc. thing works but not on steam :(

  • I got a fix... Fuck adobe flashplayer and especially fuck youtube !!

... doesn't happen on any other sites or watching any other HD vids or Netflix.

  • I have been having this problem too, Its my theory that new flash content and windows xp = restarting the computer over and over. about to break down and buy 7.

  • same

  • i got a blue screen watching this video.

it happens with every video and is annoying :(

  • Flash video+full screen=BSOD watchdog.sys

Disable hardware acseleration in flash player fixed this problen for me.

    Win XP sp3 geforce 8600gt

  • @qwer2812 i have Win XP sp3 geforce 8600gt too, so i hope it will work

  • i have the exact same problem and it only happens when i view youtube or other flash player content any ideas ?

  • I have problem too.

I update nvidia to 280.26,but it still have ploblem when I watch You Tube..

    How can I stop watchdog.

  • I'm having the same problem, and seeing this video is like flirting with danger

  • I hereby confirm that using Nvidia drivers 266.58 fixed my BSoD issues. As far as the newer version, that is currently 285.27 Beta drivers, are also said to have this problem fixed :)

  • I had same problem long time ago, i get out 1 RAM and it helped a lot!! PC was like new one :D

  • Ya this hasn't been fixed yet. I turned off Hardware Acceleration for about 2 months I didn't have a single issue with it.

I decided to test if it has been fixed or not, (with everything updated I might add.) I turned on Hardware Acceleration and in about 1 hour or so I got it right away.

So ya this hasn't been fixed yet. I don't know if Adobe is just blind that it is still causing this issue or they simply don't care.

  • again, you wont listen:( 266.58 fixes the problem, anything newer and you are doomed

  • @q3brain

This exact same problem started for me when i updated my Nvidia drivers yesterday, so it seems that waht you say it's true, but, WTF man, you're supossed to update to improve performance not the opossite, this is a serious problem from Nvidia, if that is the actual problem, i'm thinking that it may be incompatibility issues with Windows 7 since the driver is shared. ... i think is shared at least....

  • @Gigamokin

Ugghhhh i don't know.... this sucks...

  • @Gigamokin

    Yes is true, I'm 100% sure that under winXP 266.58 FIXES THE PROBLEM! (so i emphasize:D) 266.58 FIXES THE PROBLEM! - - 266.58 FIXES THE PROBLEM! - - 266.58 FIXES THE PROBLEM! - - 266.58 FIXES THE PROBLEM! - - 266.58 FIXES THE PROBLEM! - - 266.58 FIXES THE PROBLEM! - - 266.58 FIXES THE PROBLEM!

  • Thank to everyone who recommended to disable hardware acceleration, it solves the problem with BSOD.

  • I HAVE THE KEY! I am user of Windows XP SP3, and when i was accessing youtube i had the same problem with flash plug-in. BUT i installed DIRECTX 10.0 for XP and now i HAVENT MORE BLUE SCREEN. It works. It is easy find the Directx 10.0 for xp (Google search) ;)

  • Deactivate Hardware Acceleration. It will solve your problem/s.

  • @DjTerrorstyle I don't know how many times I've stated that I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM with hardware acceleration DISABLED.

  • @CricketboyStudios Sorry, I didn't watched the other comments. Did you tried to delete ADOBE FLASH PLAYER 10.3?

Try to install an older version!

Do you already installed the newest FireFox / Chrome / Internet Explorer / Opera Browser?

  • @CricketboyStudios there was a topic in microsoft forum they show how to deactivate this file after i made it my computer worked for over 6 month without only 1 bllescreen ^^ if i find it again i show a link to it because windows xp is shit if that file make bluescreen over and over again...

  • @DjTerrorstyle How do you disable that?

  • @ebrahim485 right click on the youtube video, settings, and remove the hook hardware acceleration. Then restart your browser and you should be bluescreen free.

    Cheers

  • The problem is Windows XP specific, soley because newer versions of windows support newer versions of DXVA,

The version the XP driver is using is 1.0, vista+ has 2.0. The problem can be reproduced in other DXVA accelerated applications on windows XP.. The problem appears to be that an execution trap (loop) is occuring in the driver that the kernel can not recover from, causing a kernel mode exception.

  • i had the same problem but the answer is very simply

flash player 10.2 ( maybe some other versions too ) have a hardware speedup in it .. so you have to right click on this video -> settings -> first tab -> hardware speed up activate <-- turn it out and your problems are gone :)

  • watchdog.sys BSODs are definitely flash-caused.

FFS Adobe, sort it out you goips!

  • @zarathustra2k1 false, they are a kernel mode trap that the system cannot recover from and the issue specifically with flash is DXVA handling is broken.

  • i hate this :(

when i watch any youtube video

this blue screen of dead some times surprises me :(

  • ok I know I recommended to all of you to disable HW-accel in flash, but I found the real problem (with nvidia cards only)... roll back to driver version 266.58 and you can enable HW accel again, no BSOD for me with this driver.

  • I have this problem comes only when viewing YouTube

  • Again, I'm having this issue as well. I'm very glad to hear I'm NOT the only one. I don't know exactly on what I should do because I don't think I can roll back. It has been almost a month or two at least now and there has been no answer to this issue.

  • Thx. I saw your post and followed your advice. But was not sure it works.

  • @sEmkAgtn

well I did not get any crash since, and i got it instantly if I turn it back on.

  • Who found a solution of this trouble?

  • @sEmkAgtn

I did, and I already posted it below!

  • Thanks for this video, it's gonna help me on forums.

  • did u ever find a fix for it i reinstall my graphic drivers and did a system scan eveything seems fines but it still does the bsod its always on youtube i get this problem

  • @q3brain

    >it's the retarded FLASH. Just disable hardware acceleration in flash,...

Agree. That's good advice, not spam!

  • @q3brain

how can i disable the acceleration in flash?

becouse i'vw never seen this blue screen on games only youtube so i gusse the problem is this fucking flash

  • @BenAbu111

got to any site where there is a flash anim (like flash.com ) and right click on the flash animation --> settings --> uncheck the "enable hardware acceleration" thingy

    gl

  • same to me !!!!! when watching videos or in internet what should i do ?

  • Sometimes I'm having this same trouble while viewing Youtube videos or videos on my HD.

Never got it on games. Now I'm getting drivers to my Video chipset.

  • @JoaoRibeiro92 That's the exact problem I'm having. It's flash player content that is causing the blue screens.

  • @CricketboyStudios I'm having this problem too, I expect Adobe to fix this.

  • @Cyrilondou

stop expecting adobe to fix a driver flaw.

  • @Squall4Rinoa I expect what I want. Who are you to command my thinking ?

  • @Cyrilondou

    not an idiot for starters.

  • @CricketboyStudios

    ok

so what we need to do to stop it??? you have any idea?

  • @JoaoRibeiro92 im having the same problems, sometimes i dont see this screen for days, and sometimes it just keeps popping like crazy
