  • OMG

There doing a move I have to do LOL

  • I think learning how to do Kobudo would be awesome!, and the dude who used the tonfa's was awesome XD

  • Comment removed

  • omgg i have found my ideal martial art!! I have always wanted to train with that stick thing sorry idont know what its called lol

  • @brwnhoney bo staff

  • Kobudo ira dar mais agilidade que qual quer outra arte marcial, se você apreender a esquivar de uma arma, ira facil se esquivar de um atake sem armas como um chute ou soco. Tradução

Kobudo will give more flexibility than other martial arts which you want if you learn to dodge a knife or bat, will easily evade a atake without weapons as a kick or punch.

  • The instructor looks odd wearing a belt over his hakama.

  • The term Martial Art actually means "Arts of War" or referred to as "Fighting Art". Basically all Martial Arts have the same objectives, basically to defeat an opponent or defend yourself from an opponent. Different Martial Arts have different believes and techniques. There it's settled, now everyone stop arguing. Please? -- @Nok3dZion Excellent demonstration video, yourself & your students are well trained. Keep up the hard work.

  • @TheAikidoBush

    *Different Beliefs*

  • They're dancing :D

  • he's counting very funny^^

  • Great

    OSSU

  • Looks very interesting, but I am wondering why the demonstrator is opening his hands so often (Jobo).

  • whoever says do mma is totally misinformed. MMA stands for MIXED martial arts, i do it my self and i do pankration, so i dont say to people "i do mma" i tell them the fighting style if train.

  • why they count like, ichi, ni, san, shi, go?? but the right numbering in nihongo is ichi ni san yon go.. four=yon not four=shi..

  • Look, dopey, there are two words for four, and two words for seven. Usage depends on situation. NARF.

  • its japanese dumb shit

  • @MrPrinceX06

    san, shi is correct

numbering in nihongo is for those who are superstitious (as shi sounds similar to the word that means "suffer")

  • 4 can be Yon, and also Shi...7 can be Nana, and also shiti...8 can be hati, and also Ya...10 can be Dyu, and also Tô...It depends what you're going to count!! japanese is difficult

  • If you were really into MMA you wouldn't talk shit like this. I know what I'm talking about.

  • You can't "DO" MMA because MMA isn't a style.

  • São da linhagem do Mestre Shinzato ou representantes do Matayoshi Kobudo ou outros ?

  • mierda

  • rofl...im so sick of mma ppl thinking they can beat everyone

mma is made for sport and entertainment

real martial arts are made for killing, there are no rules,no weight classes, and if you lose, you die.

  • @westtristan96 mma is not a sport, ufc is, mma means mixed martial arts, so mma people are dangerous considering they know more than 1 martial art ..so, yeah. i only know 1 martial art btw.

  • @zemnoz I dont mean to drag the argument on but mma is only dangerous in a ring with set combat rules, because you could never groundfight or choke someone out in real life like that, anyone who knew how to scrap wouldnt just "lay there an tap out" or only clinch a certain way or not use throat punches or headbutts to the nose : |

  • @Taud Dude I've fought some really tough people in my life and the only way I'm still alive is because I CHOKED HIM OUT IN A STREET FIGHT. You haven't seen real fighting for your life like I have. And yeah I took a bunch of elbows to the throat but I didn't let go. My karate was damn near useless. I respect MMA people because they are pit fighters, although one has never beaten me.

  • @AurumenK read what i said again mma is in a ring with set combat rules, you can only use certain chokes, i didnt say ALL chokes were infective i said no ones gonna let you arm bar them ina street fight, if your karate was useless, you were cheated by your teachers or yourself, they didnt show you a real life training situation so you werent prepared for one or you didnt listen to them, no insults there, thats just the truth its you who never seen real fighting than if u can even use karate

  • @Taud I've armbarred a lot of people I just don't use the stupid ones. And yeah set rules are sad. Cheated by my teachers? I beat national champions and am a white belt. THIS GUY WAS ONE OF THE RIGHT HAND MAN OF A GANG LEADER. I sat for half a fucking hour trading blows with him, he was in far superior shape then me. You don't believe me? Dude come fight me I live in mission. I'll work you so bad you won't know up from down. Cheated by my teacher? My teacher is in tenth place overall.

  • @AurumenK Funny how you TALK about things you've done, but there's no way to prove it. Oh yeah, I once beat the hell outta the entire Crips gang in Harlem and smack the daylights out of seven secret service men, then I went to China and kicked the Shaolin Temple's ass, all while I was just a white belt and for my black belt test I had to run across the country and back in an hour then fight the demons of hell.

And in case you can't tell, that's sarcasm. Moron...

  • @AurumenK ineffective**

  • @Taud Ineffective yeah whatever. You'll never come fight me. Do you compete in tournaments? I join one just for you if I can get there. Taud your nothing more than some fucking fourteen year old attempting to bully me from far away. As I said before I live in mission, BC canada come to the mission rec center on 7th ave. I'll fight you and show you how a real fighter fights. I usually wear a white sweater with gold lettering saying dark lord of time and a commando patch on my right shouldr

  • @AurumenK You are trying to start a fight over youtube? seriously man my teachers taught me to not bother with trash like you, i dont fight in touch tournaments, we fight on cement with mouthguards and thats it. we dont sport fight You adressed me first because you didnt like my comment, yur profile is full of people making fun of you so youre obviously some weakling whos trying to prove something to not only me but all of them and over the internet, go back to choking out crack heads......

  • @AurumenK lol, are you like stupid or sumthing..? how old are you?

  • @westtristan96 Like Krav maga? XD

  • @westtristan96 exactly.

  • @westtristan96 Your comment about real martial arts is probably the smartest thing I've ever heard.

  • @westtristan96 What defines a "real" martial arts?

Moreover, martial arts is a form of lifestyle, not homicide.

Your comment is implicitly stating that you want to prove that "real" martial arts is better than MMA.

Rather than insulting them back, and being that much closer to being the ill-minded MMA fighter that you despise, train yourself, and focus only on self-improvement, as that would be wisest.

After all, "humility" is one of men's generic virtues.

  • @westtristan96

    Nope, bullshit.

"Real" Martial Arts are made for self-defense, not for attacking or killing somebody.

  • @westtristan96 nope only a blind fool would that if a martial art, Most Martial arts are used for self defence not all of them but lets say ninjutsu and kobudo there more for the killing side

  • @westtristan96 Plus street fighters strike to the throat, eyes, break limbs and use joint locks which aren't allowed in mma

  • I did MMA for a while. It's fun and you do get pretty good at fighting. But there's so much more to martial arts than just hitting and getting hit. I hurt people, and got hurt myself, so what... At the end of the day, there's much more to martial arts than fighting. That's why I'm stopping MMA now and going back to Shaolin Kempo. MMA fighters are very talented. But they are not martial artists, they're fighters who use martial art techniques for violence.Martial artists seek to perfect themself

  • idiot comment... you can't understand the difference between a combat art and two crackhead hitting each other until unconsciousness... when you train in karate (or kung fu, muay thay... just name it), you learn one rule: one hit one kill (or one ko), but you don't fight for fun or for the audience, you only do it to save your life... AND, a real martial art master, CAN kill with a hit, pretty rare thing in a mma brawler...

  • Excellent video with shows true martial spirit. The Sensei shows professtionalism, knowledge and control. Enjoyed it verymuch.

  • i do jiu jutsu and kobudo and have done judo....

  • im training this sport too. at the first kata (the beginners kata) kata sushi nagoon i saw some mistakes. like when they turn. you first need to look before you can block. you cant know there is someone behind you trying to hit your leg. the rest was just fine

  • By saying you train in this sport...you show that you are the one that is with no experience...kobudo is not a sport...its a mere essence that infiltrates you with budo

  • Muito interessante!!!

    Parabéns!

  • This is very cool...

I wish he would post a web link with a down load of this video.

I am a 3rd Degree in TaeKwonDo, and have studied Shotokan Karate as well. Plus work on Jujitsu This is cool in my book.

Sir, if you have a way for me down load it please post a web site or link.

  • smoothandbuff what kinda sport do you do? ballet? i bet i can get you down with 3 strikes with my bo staff.

  • NICE! ..

    ..i go to Karate ^^

  • srry about that. im not that open to new methods of doing things. my muay thai coach just tells me to breath out every hit i do.

  • he is right, they teach it in pretty much every combat stile... i do shotokan karate, and you allways have to expel all the air in you your lungs at the moment of the impact... that makes your hit much more powerful

  • Interesting, but this is not Oshukai!

  • Very impressive

  • haha so wrong, i bet you're not a martial artist

  • actually, it's not so much a scream but a method of breathing. It comes from Hara(Japanese for lower abdomen) which is why it is loud.

  • Look it up. It's not useless

  • the screeming you refer to is called kiai, its not to look cool, it is an effective technique, all fighting arts use kiai, its basically breathing out from the diaghram when you strike, you obviously have no knowledge of martial arts, otherwise you wouldnt post such a stupid comment.

  • lot of mistakes!!!

  • Do it better , idiot ! Too much people like to say many things , but the few others like to TRAIN . Not to stay at home seeing youtube and criticize others ...

  • The guy far behind to left is doing a mess!

  • buenisimo tu video, las tecnicas de bo contra tonfa son muy buenos y el barrido con el bo tambien.

  • wow they suck and the student basically let the teacher won

  • dude can you not tell that they were practiced routines?????

    you suck

  • you forgot to count to 10 near the start...:P

  • My god How can a close combat fighting like Tae kwon do beat a fighting style like Kobudo?

Well I guess in tae kwon do you also use bo staffs and Nunchucks, And something else but I forgot what

  • Kama I think, at least that was me.

  • @bonjink no taekwondo dont use we use fists palms foots leegs... but not weapons what is maded

  • Matayoshi Kobudo.. Isnt it? Nice video.. I like everyone performing Shushi No Kun :) gambatte kudasai

  • amateurs... see , how they are carring bo

  • i like how the guy keeps fallin on the floor.

  • They're either doing a form of Pre-Arranged sparring, or Bunkai. They're highly trained, and very well prepared. They know what each other are going to do, one of them is on attack, the other is on defense. He's meant to fall on the floor, it's part of the entire thing.

  • This isn't bunkai, it's kata kumiwaza. It's basicly the kata with the attacks.

  • I think these kobudo weapons are so many and different that any thing (branch, boot or whatever) can be used as at least one of these. if kobudo is practised in kumite frequently, you can at least train reaction, distance and other stuff that is in real fight, even without weapons!!

  • There's a lot of weapons in okinawan karate. There is sai, bo, nunshaku, kama etc..

  • Eiiiiii!!! É o Flávio Sensei! hehehehehe!!!

It's Flávio Sensei! A really good friend of mine!

  • i love all martial arts and fighting sports... but you cant use staffs and swords in real life can u? unless you hide it somewhere...no offense. really cool style. and vid:)

  • Weapons can be easily concealed beneatch clothing. Weapons like Sai, are easiest too hide. Whilst trying to hide a Sword, or a Bo Staff is stupid, carrying smaller weapons is easy. I've been training in Goju Karate for the past 8 years for self defense purposes, and whilst karate is an empty-handed form of martial arts, I always carry a 6 inch blade on me.

  • maybe you should train with eskrima if bring knives all the time

  • There are many oshukai kobudo fighters that pratice also shorin ryu karaté, since oshukai is a school where you can learn both.

  • Muey Bueno!

  • nice.....

  • very interesting. please more

  • I practice Karate Shito-Ryu style and kobudo is only part of our training. We have all kinds of okinawan weapon and also batto-do (art of japaneese sword). And what's interesting - our kata sushi-no-kon-sho is similar but there are important diferences.

  • I practice this same katas, they're great

  • That was very interesting, I do shinto kai style kobudo and it's very different. Thank for uploading.
