Absolute classic! Ronnie Barker, god bless him,was a genius. On the topic of American comedies though, yes there are some very funny comedies from the States."Seinfeld", "Frasier","King of Queens","Everybody Loves Raymond" etc. It's somewhat disingenuous to say that all American comdey is bad. It's just different is all. It seems to be something of an insiduous disease on YouTube, this hate on both sides! Comedy can bring us all together & we should celebrate this!
what about ,friends, taxi, the odd couple, everyone loves raymond, etc not to mention the great movies tha yanks have made,Come on im british, but share something in common, humility like Daishikaze has shown. Some respect .
for the porridge super fans who read this, need a couple of questions answering after failing my self, which episode is one where they've got hold of some toilet roll or something and it's the last bit left. and which is the episode where one of the officers get's them all to move into a new cell and he says 'there's 2 rules, don't write on the walls' or something
I'm an american, and I'd like to say that Ronnie Barker was a comedy genius.
I truly enjoy the classic British sense of humour, and I'd like to point out that some of America's very best comedy series were either remakes or spin-offs of remakes to classic british comedy. Please don't judge all Americans based on the comments of some of my countrymen, they do not represent us all.
Um, it's actually filmed in front of a live studio audience - if that wasn't possible then they'd play the video to a live audience and record the laughter. And come on, it's funny.

Ronnie Barker was brilliance personified, but Fulton Mackay made it just that extra special. Mr Mackay is one of my favourite characters of all time.

Wow British humor is dry, and why do all of their shows have laughtracks? It's like they cant understand their own jokes.
