Great video, I download the 3 a340s including the 600 on simaviation and all of them failed to load the bodie of the plain every time, but the wings were visible and present, how did you upload your a340- 600 to fsx, please.

no, it does not land the plane automatic. the vor09 approach is a gps route entered in the fgmc via waypoints. i turned of the ap at about 400 feet above ground und landed manually.

it´s just a lot of practice to land right on the centerline.

yes it´s a manual landing without ILS, but i use the VOR09 Approach entered in the FGMC both via GPS Waypoints and the PJM VOR frequence tuned into the NAV. The rest is calculating a reasonable descentrate depending on your approachspeed and a lot of practice for the final approach to land nearly somewhere behind the pianobars and centered on the runway. by the way the PAPI is a good help too.

ummm, I would say yes. I would probably go with the 8600 GTS or GT 512 or 256mb card. I would say more ram too. and if you could dual core. I have a dual core 2.13GHz 2 G ram and 8600 GT 256 mb computer. Runs about 10 to 15 on average well depends what airport.

To less RAM, 2GB should be the minimum.

To slow GFX-Card. Buy something like Geforce 8800 or Radeon 2900 HD.

If you don´t want to buy something, set the GFX-Setting of FSX to low.

I don´t think it´s a hard landing. The soundeffect are only a bit loud. For a TNCM Landing DME/VOR Approach without ILS and Autolanding it should be ok.

It was not really necessary to flare a lot as i was landing with only 5 % fuel left and a relativly low approachspeed and plenty of runway left.

You have to make some adjustments to the panel configuration. Search avsim or other FS Websites for a documentation on how to make Overland FS2004 planes FSX compatible, or if you want it the easy way i mail you my config.

O.O I live in Belleair Beach, right next to clearwater, i love Tampa! Didnt know they added so much in the addon around the airport. Xgraphics and Active Sky X are worth getting, but they have a heavy price tag for somehting you can go without

This video is not about the Tampa Airport. It´s about the landing of an Air France Airbus A340-300 at Princess Juliana Airport(TNCM, Netherland Antilles), which is a regular scheduled flight from Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport. The scenery used in FSX is from FlyTampa software company.

FPS differ between 15 and 20 when flying without recording with Fraps. When i record the video with Fraps, the FPS reduces about 2-3 FPS, because Fraps uses some CPU time for it´s simple type of compression.

The difference in terms of clockspeed is above 1 GHz, 2.13 compared to 3.2. It does have some impact, especially when your are running Aktive Sky X or other tools like FDC Live Cockpit X, FSC 8 etc. in the background. It should give some FPS, but i really didn´t test it out yet. I am also limited by my Graphics-Card which is an ATI 1950 Pro, and ATI Cards usually don´t do well in FSX. Nvidias are a lot better when counting FPS. So my next task is to buy an 8800 GTS and rework the video.

Thanks mrburner2007. I was wondering how well the X1950 Pro scaled, but it's hard to tell with this title since it requires both CPU and GPU resources. Be interesting to see at what point it bottlenecks. It looks good on your system, but I agree that a Geforce 8800 GTS would be better..would you get the 320MB or the 640MB one?. Your PSU would be pulling a few amps as well, with that upgrade :)

Yes, it really requires a lot CPU and GPU power, and of course you need at least 2 Gigs of RAM, otherwise it´s almost unplayable.

My point is, that i always want to play FSX with 1280x1024, at highest settings and FSAA, including lens flare and light bloom which cost an aweful lot of gpu power.

I will try the 320MB GTS, which is about 100 Euros cheaper here in Germany than the 640MB version. I own a 450W BeQuiet Straight Power PSU. It should do the job with the GTS.
