It's been a while, but I think the car costs 800 and can be resold when fixed up for around 6000--not bad!

Add a driveway (it's in the 'build' section)to your lot, then go to 'hobbies' section in 'buy' mode. Find the 'fix-it-up' car, buy it, then place it on your driveway., then just select a Sim and click on car to have Sim start work.

Just Sims 2, I think. I got Sims 3, but I'm sticking with Sims 2--Sims 3 just isn't as much fun, plus the last EA patch for Sims 3 hosed my installation.

You can choose from several colors (black is probably best--it has flame detailing)but there's only one model design. You can also repaint the same car.

Freetime is the last expansion I bought, so I don't know about Apartment Life, etc. Sometimes they will carry over stuff into new expansions, but I don't know for sure. I doubt it's available in expansions older than Freetime, unless EA has since released a patch to add it.

hey when i get freetime for sims 2 do you pick out the designs of the car or does it just make a random design for you

It's the same body shape and style always. You can choose color; that's about it. If you don't use money cheats, it's a good way for your sim to make a good paycheck. The car costs about 700 but after fixing it can be sold for something like 3000.

Buy it in 'hobbies' section of buy catalog, then have a Sim work on it. That's it. When finished, the Sim can sell it or use it like any other SIms car. Not exactly a great looking car, but it's pretty cool!

Not sure about the download bit, but once a Sim finishes the car, they can use it like any other car--sit in it, drive it to other lots, that kind of thing.

Yes, when Freetime was the most recent expansion pack. Now it *might* be included with the newer packs (Apartment, etc.), like they did with driveways, as a download.

You can buy it anytime. All you need is the money and a driveway. Find car under catalog entry for hobbies; the driveway is in build mode under 'misc.' Put in the driveway first. If on a dorm lot, you'll have to use this cheat: boolprop dormspecifictoolsdisabled false.

It's part of the Freetime expansion pack. Just buy one (it's in the same catalog as telescopes, etc.) and let your Sim go to work on it. Once the Sim finishs engine and body work(including painting), she can sell it for a nice profit or keep it and drive. Have fun!
