As far as im aware, when you stand up your blood pressure needs to rise slightly, in order to be able to push the blood around your vertically oriented body. Sometimes the change is a bit slow, so your blood pressure is a bit too low when you stand, so not enough oxygen reaches your brain, and you feel dizzy. After a few seconds your blood pressure rises and you feel fine again.

@TH3SH4 I think, and I'm not 100% sure, but, when you are sitting, the blood is pulsing around normally, and as you stand up quickly, the force and sudden change in you heads altitude denies your brain blood, and oxygen, so you feel dizzy. Kinda like with fighter jets, you always hear about the blood going into the pilots feet due to the Gs during turns and loops.
