  • Made Respect To You Homie. I Can Only Imagine How Hard It was For You To Track Down The Samples And Put This Vid Together In A Way That show How Its Put Together..

    Keep It Up!

  • pretty sure i just found the daft punk - something about us sample scrolling through my itunes.

Oliver cheatham - get down saturday night

  • rene & angela really sampled rod stewart's "da ya think i'm sexy". in fact rod stewart's song was released in 1979 and rene & angela's one was released 2 years after (1981).

  • hahaha love the end XD

  • @DJevilstereo what do you mean by (Stevie Nicks ftw) ?????

  • Thank you for this, very interesting

  • Adding this... Cutting this...

Some loops and effects. VOILA... Your own house music.

  • The stevie nicks sample is used by sharam jay too hehe

  • I agree with dodgyken06, this sample is exactly 900 degrees... Wich is one of the greatest house songs evaaaaa

  • Ian Pooley's classic '900 Degrees' is a clear sample of Rene and Angela too.

  • Try Call on Me By Eric Prydz!

  • @Mum2Boys haha, if you really don't know the sample:

thomas bangalter & dj falcon - call on me (they sampled steve winwood's valerie)

  • IMO, Welcome 2 Thee Lite is way better than Linus Love's The Terrace. Same sample, sounds so much better.

  • Rene and Angela i love you more - ian pooley 900 degrees

  • Thanks for sharing your immense knowledge! :)

  • Ian Poole-900 degrees

in the samples of n# 1

  • The instrunetal sample was also used in

    Ian Pooley's song 900 Degress

just thought i should mention that

  • Stevie Nicks FTW lol, u shud do more of 'spot the random word' game thing lol

  • What's the song at the end?

  • 2:45!!! Caught that!

  • Just so you know, WhoSampled accepted Rene & Angela/Rod Stewart thing.

  • Rene and Angela "I Love You More"

is also sampled in Ian Pooley's "900 Degrees"

at least thats what came to mind to me at first

    great finds

  • yeah same here ! they sound alot like each other

  • Yeah, they both sampled the same track. It was also sampled in "Disco Police Dpt" by Mike 303. I dig the Ian Pooley track most though.

  • You never cease to amaze me DJevilstereo. Bravo!

  • I forgot, there is a song called "American French Machine" using 2 or 3 samples from "Loleatta Holloway - Love Sensation"

That may be interresting to do a video on it ^^

    Keep the filterhouse alive!

  • Stay tuned for Volume 5. Including that one. ;D

  • @DJevilstereo the first song is also sampled in the song "manhatten" by cadillac. and great videos by the way.

  • Love what u do DJ Evil, that's insane!

the first song "I love you more" is also sampled by a french rap band "113 - Jackpot 2000" (ok it's not house ^^)

You certainly know the song "wrath of zeus" by The Eternals, i'm sure that the sample used is the beginning of "Musique - Keep on jumpin'".

  • I like the poka song. Good sampling

  • stevie nicks ftw

  • Just a little note, "I Love You More" is also sampled in "900 Degrees" by Ian Pooley.

  • so I'm listening to the way you chop it up , I like the track when is at it's original speed ...but 2minutes in ,it just sound wicked . love it

  • Nice work!!!

Really lookin forward 2 part 5!!

    cheers

  • :) these breakdown vids are cool

  • EXCELLENT LINUS LOVES FIND!!!!!

  • I just love this channel , i get to find new tracks based on such good samples . Thx alot , keep it up .

Five stars , of course .

  • poka is a genious :P

  • the Poka sampling is fucking hell awesome why have i not so ideas 5*

  • Nice video, as usual ! Congrats !

  • Hey DJevil ,

I've absolutely fallen in love with Cassius and I'm curious about the 2 other samples in Nulife...also, I have a quick question about the song 1999. I know the sample and everything, but I wanna know how they make the sample sound "scrambled" at the beginning and end of the song. know what I mean ?

  • Sounds like a low-pass cut off filter.

  • Jamie Starr Scenario - Welcome to Thee Lite also samples the Steve Nicks track.

  • haha now i kn ow where ian pooley sampled for 900 degrees...cheers evil

  • Hey, no problem. ;D

  • I think you should stick to house samples , these videos are sooo interesting and also educational !

  • stevie nick ftw!!

    nice....

    good vid *favourites* and

your new ep is so fucking great!!!

  • HOW ON EARTH DID YOU FIND THAT POKA SAMPLE? That is something unbelievable. I was expecting '900 Degrees' by Ian Pooley, mind-blowing to find out that sample. When I recover from this bout of sickness (stomach virus, ugh) I will do some more Poka sampling breakdowns ('Heartbreaker' and 'Party In Me').

I already knew about the Linus Loves sample, great to hear it broken down.

The Kano/Kavinsky sample absolutely blew my mind. The way it's integrated with the synths is amazing.

  • Funny story. I had found and tried sampling "I Love You More" for Free Samples. It didn't work out. Yesterday I was cruising around Myspace, and I landed on Poka. I figured I would listen to 1987, and recognized it immediately. :D

I was surprised to find out about Kano/Kavinsky too. (Thanks, again, Boba!!)

Also, I'm pretty stoke right now, because I just found TWO more samples in Cassius's "Nulife". If Ishkur worked for me, I'd submit them. I will make an update video for it though.

  • stoked*

  • I Love You More and Do You Think I'm Sexy totally sound alike. Welp, I'm off to WhoSampled.

  • That's not a sample, though.

  • They accept replayed samples.

  • I'm thinking it's just a coincidence. It was just a joke. That's not a replayed sample, that's a similar melody.

  • Some of the greatest inventions came from mistakes. Maybe it's the same for samples and jokes? :P I submitted one with Michael Jackson's P.Y.T. and Carl Carlton's Bad Mama Jama.

  • I guess I;m First to say this is inlighting to see!

I've never heard of the guy or group Kavinksy. Are they European? After this I'll look them up to see there skillz!!!!!

Oh, I made some AV style videos of some house music!!!!!! Check it out and Respond!!!!!

  • Yeah, Kavinksy is from France (Just one guy). He's really good.
